Where were you?

try oxy clean, maybe that will get rid of the smell…or try some of that pet odor remover.
cold water gets blood stains out, but that’s only sort of. so listen to X.
I’d suggest you have it shampooed, or do it yourself with a carpet shampooer (not the big floor shampooers, the smaller hand held ones). But when you shampoo it, use an actual hose to suck out the detergent and water from the seat. That’s probably where the smell is coming from, inside the seat where it seeped through.
Why were you hauling a dead deer in the back seat of your car.. is there something you are not disclosing and are trying to hide something? ::raises eyebrow::
I was wondering the same thing…why haul the deer in a car….but I dunno. Next time you should borrow a truck from someone! ;)
My point exactly. I know many a redneck and I don’t know many who haul dead animals in their car..

He didnt say it was in the car, just that some blood got spilt on the seat…probably from a knife or something.
“in the back seat of my car.”
You clean your knife.. plus the amount of blood on a knife wouldn’t be a “spill”.
Personally I don’t know the circumstance of his situation.. I was just commenting on how odd it is. I am going to offer no solution that will truly help just in case this is a questionable situation.

I don’t believe you read the question at all.
I doubt this is actually a questionable situation though, but I respect Rcky’s desire not to offer help in case it is.
I’m inclined to believe that this person just made a mistake when he went hunting…or possibly had raw meat packaged from a recent hunting expedition and from the packaging, the blood leaked out. I prefer to give the benefit of the doubt. I’d like to believe that no one would post such a question on the internet if they were involved in something “bad” (great way to get yourself caught), but then again, people surprise you sometimes.
Oh well. Let’s hope for the best. :P

I’ll rephrase my statement…He didnt say anything about the deer actually being in the vehicle. Only that blood got on the seat, probably from a knife, or his cloths (I dont know how much blood would be on ones cloths after field dressing a deer, I dont hunt) or something.
Hi Nerdlings!
I know someone who had a cooler leak while taking deer meat to the butcher. The blood and brine soak spilled all over the seat and floorboard. How do you clean it up? How do you ask the question on the internet without listening to a bunch of idjiots play CSI?
I just had the same thing happen to me! In the back of my Volvo station wagon, the plastic liner leaked…I used a solution of cold water (one bucket) with a teaspoon of liquid dishwashing soap (like WalMart brand dishwashing soap) + 5 ounces of “Mr. Clean with Febreeze” liquid cleaner. I used a clean cotton terrycloth towel and soaked the towel in this liquid, wrung it out, scrubbed the stains and it worked like a charm! Both the stains and the smell / odor came out. Now my carpet is clean again, and the car smells very nice. I also took a can of Febreeze and sprayed the car just for good measure, and that should take care of any lingering deer odor. Good luck!
And for those of you who wonder why someone would have a deceased deer in their car…a tragedy occurred in front of me on a busy thoroughfare; and a deer was struck by a car. The Sherriff had to put the deer out of its misery. Rather than have the deer lay by the side of the road, I know a very poor family who relies on deer meat to put food on their table. I asked the Sheriff if I could bring the deer to this family, so they can have food. So that’s how a suburban housewife happens to get deer blood on the carpet of their car (at least in my case!).
