i have to remember something.

i have to remember the preamble of the constitution. is there an easy way to remember it? i mean, to learn it fast because i need to know it by monday, for extra-credit, which i really need. if you dont know what the preamble is, here:

We the People of the United States,
in order to form a more perfect Union,
establish Justice, insure domestic tranqulity,
provide for the common Defense, promote the General Welfare
and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity,
do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

lol, a big run-on sentence. but, yea, is there an easy way to remember this?(besides practicing it over and over and over again…….)

ew, rote memorization is a horribly boring and time consuming way to remember things.

Most people memorize long sequences or words on a regular basis and don’t really think about it - in songs. Make a song out of it, or just give it some sort of rhythm when you’re trying to memorize it.

Also, when I have to memorize speeches or passages of writing or the like, I always start memorizing the last line first, and then go backwards by line. Then, since you’ve spent more time on later lines and already know them, each time you start on a line it becomes easier as you go on instead of harder.

And, instead of sitting down and practicing it for 100 times all at once until you have it, try only spending the time you need to slightly get the hang of it, and then give yourself a regular signal to recite it - like every time you go to the bathroom, or every time you say the first word “We” to somebody then just go over it in your head.

That kind of stuff works best for me.

I also have helped young people learn long passages by writing the whole thing on a chalkboard, and reading is over and over again, and then erasing two words (random ones at different places in the sentence) each time we read it over, until it is all erased.

Sounds strange, but it works.

Get some 3×5 cards, write it down over and over again. Speak aloud the words you write then read them as a whole when you are done. This will burn it into your memory.

dont say the whole thing over and over …just say the first line ..till its stuk on ur head..then the next one and so on
