haha, well it seems awesome now but i think itll turn into a huge hassle. monkeys are good at climbing and have hands with thumbs so they could do things like open your fridge, climb on your desks and counters, etc.

Why not I want one for 5 grand and a head ache for the rest of my life. I agree with TheJDevi you might want to consider everything they can get into. Do you have somewhere for one outside?

You have the money but do you have the time. I think a monkey might be like having a kid. are you ready for that responsibility? If you think you can do it and take care or the monkey. then definitely buy it :) That will be a fun and interesting experience.

I would wait until then. I don’t know if they have monkey parks where you live but the closet dog park is about 30 min from me

Monkeys are just as much trouble as kids, if not more since they are animals and dont learn as much.
Search it online, get as much information as you can
go to zoo’s and ask people who work with monkeys questions
Learn as much as you can before making a final decision
find out how much itll cost in the long run too
and make sure u know their exercise and food routines
like i said, just learn a lot. cover everything
internet rocks for that

That would be one lonely monkey. I think it’s illegal (and quite cruel) to own a wild and social animal like a monkey- they need families and communities of their own kind around them (just like humans do), or else he/she will be very depressed. Why don’t you sponsor an endangered species of monkey, instead? It’ll sort be like owning one, since you’ll receive pictures and updates on their lives, just with a lot less poop around your house.

well, its the having the monkey around the house part that would be awesome. And, there are domesicated monkeys that can live in houses and places like that. Arent humans close enough to being monkeys, so its kinda like they do have their own kind around!!!

lol, well, whatever you decide to do, don’t do it on a whim. You got money to feed it, get it toys, space to run around in, etc? Time to clean the messes it makes and spend time with it? Take it on with the mindset of supporting a toddler.

well yeah but monkeys arent exactly responsible. its not like you can give it chores or teach it to take out the garbage. itll be like a very strong little kid who is very capable of wreaking havoc.

Exactly. I guess I meant “go at it with the mindset of supporting a strong, everlasting toddler. Who poops a lot.”

They have thumbs, it’s like having a kid—then a pre-teen.

You have to spend a huge amount of time with them, depending on their species, you also have to consider the possibility that it might become unruly or try and kill you.

Your future spouse or children might not approve, or the monkey might not approve of them.

You have to get exotic pet licensing, special vets/doctors and food to fit their dietary needs—fruits and veggies.
