Hehe.
Look in your local job centre.
If you are really desperate for money, then just ask around EVERYWHERE and take any job you can even if it isn’t in your specialised field.
You might have to work in McDonalds but some money is better than no money.

Continue applying. Monster, Yahoo Hotjobs, Careerbuilder are some of the largest job boards, where you can apply for jobs and upload your resume. Since Craigslist, allows free job postings, many smaller companies post their vacancies on this online classifieds website. You can also search for jobs from multiple websites using aggregators like SimplyHired and Indeed. Referrals also are becoming a increasingly popular way to get hired. Gosh I know how you feel. It’s been 11 months and the unemployment is gone…the extension, too. I went to school on the state and now that’s done, too. It hurts and the mind is pummelling me with negative thoughts.

I pray and let God know I need help now (I’m down to my last $150).

I really don’t know who to turn to so I am going to write to every **** editor and newspaper in the country. Noooo, this is not a life or death situation. This is about getting screwed because of something I did (a few misdemeanors) over 25 years ago. I don’t know how alot of people get their stories told and are chosen by the media Gods to be the lucky ones to pour out their guts on a talk show, or a morning news program or one of the many news magazines out there, but I have already written to the people that represent my district and State in Government,…several times. I get no responses. I’ve already written to several morning news shows and famous talk shows, such as Ellen and Maury many many times and no response,……imagine that. I know, my story isn’t a sensational story, but its one that needs to be heard and I’m ready to ***** about it, nationally!!! Its bad enough that I saved a skunks life last summer and have really ba d pics of the skunk and me and told many local media about it, but I was ignored. But a local cop shoots a glass bottle on a skunks head but the ring from the glass jar stays on, which, eventually tortures the skunk to death and he gets front page news. AUGH!!! Sorry,…uh,…. didn’t mean to get carried away. I love my wife soooo much and my cats. They’re my family. I really don’t know where to turn. I am attaching my resume, a small list of jobs I’ve applied at (doesn’t include jobs I’ve applied at through the internet), a blurred pic of the squirrel and of me holding the plastic bottle I took off the skunk. You ask, “Why is he telling about a skunk when his main focus is about jobs?” Good question!! Maybe because I want you to get a handle on my personality, a love for animals and fellow human beings, but really just pissed off and totally in a tizzy about my luck right now.

I have been looking for work since last May. My wife and I don’t have kids. We own our Home and live in a nice Mobile Home Park. I’ve applied at over 400 companies and have documented this by writing down companies I’ve applied at, or e-mails I’ve saved by applications to companies and/or Temp agencies on-line. Un-employment ended in November. I’ve applied at jobs that I have many years of accounting experience (no college) and places, such as fast food and factories (no experience) and have been turned down. I’ve also been refused from a temp agency because of a few minor infractions on my record from over 25 years ago. We are about to lose our home, and have to give up our cats (our kids). We sold our car for a cheaper one to pay bills through January. My wife works as much as possible at a Pet Store. The longer I look for work, the more companies a sk, “why haven’t you worked since last May Steve?” I’ve written to Senators and news agencies regarding our situation and how alot of companies, (according to a certain temp agency) won’t hire people anymore that have even minor infractions, i.e. (misdemeanors) on their record from over 25 years ago,….I get no response. Gee, and I vote! Apparently, Michigan passed a law about 4 or 5 years ago that allows employers to have access to background checks (going as far back as to when someone is born) for applicants applying for a job. I don’t have a problem with that, but,…for a well-known temp agency to refuse me because of this law is absolutely absurd. I am 47 years old now and I did some dumb things (misdemeanors) over 25 years ago. This same agency informed me that most companies won’t hire me because of those infractions. I am at a loss and I really believe my story needs to be told ,…especially with the economic woes here in Michigan. Its bad enough that the jobs are far and few between, but it makes it worse when I can’t get a job because of something that happened over a quarter of a century ago. As to the reason why I lost my job back in May, I had to sign a confidentiality agreement (release) to receive a small severance payment and I’ve had to tell future potential companies that I’ve applied at, that I was fired because of a rift between me and my boss,…uh,..not quite. But that is another story that, like I said, I’m not suppose to say anything. I really hope and pray that somebody reads this shortened letter because I’m sure there are alot of people that are going through similar situations.

if you have a record you need to get it expunged or sealed. you can do that threw the county you got your charge find a laywer there its not too expensive around 4-700 dollers you can only do one type of charge one misdomener 1 felony. most jobs if you have a violent crime or drugs charge private employers will rarely hire you untill u get that fixed also you can write to the governer of the state u had the charge and ask for a pardon they do so many a year so act fast. and wipe ure record out. as far as jobs go depending on if you live in a big or small place resturants will take just about anyone and so will fast food* just apply your self checking ever other day or 2 for about a week or 2 be presentable and be ready to provide all your information in a profeshinal manner. money is important not the job who cares what you do as long as your making a living just apply your lazy ***. thats about all you can do. when jobs are scarce. they have temp agencies in most places. like Staffmark or ESA staffing ect they will place you in jobs mostly factory customer service a number of opertunities so dont be picky. the goal is to get the money in hand and clean up your record then re apply at those places that you wanted to work that wont give u the job due to your backround. I hope this information helps as where i am in the same boat and this is the process im taking shouldnt be long now and ill be back at wal mart or somthing similar im mostly iterested in the insurance and ect and the pay doenst have to be great as long as its enuff to put food on the tabel pay your bills and mabey 1 0r 2 royalties buck up you gota make it happen no one else will do it for you. I hope this helps thank for reding.

I will be honest, I feel the pain here. I left the Army 3 years ago due to an injury. The VA refused my medical claim and when I went back to file they lost my records. I had a serious back injury. I have been looking for a job over a year now, and even the McDonalds, Target, Walmart, etc are all full in my area and not even hiring for cashiers. I have 3 kids and a wife and am running on borrowing money from my parents to help me get by while I find odd jobs like computer repair, babysitting, and mowing lawns. I have 8 years of Army experience, speak Arabic and Indonesian but since I no longer have my clearance I have been rejected for Government jobs, not to mention my credit has sunk to a too low point level to get a top secret. I also have 13 years experience in retail management, advertising, and marketing. I am also school trained in EEO and SH, as well as Anti-Terrorism. Yet, I can’t find a job. I have thought about ending it all, but the only thing keeping me going is my youngest daughter. I say to all the job seekers good luck, I have had none. Jobs Sites, employment agencies, newspapers, local job services, even networking has not been fruitful as I get….well we are not looking for anyone in that field right now. Or, we are full but we would be willing to keep your resume on file for when something might open up.

I’m with you when it comes to the pain. I feel so worthless and alone. I’ve been out of work for 4 months. I was originally let go of a great job because my company was moved to India. I took the first job that came along after that happened and it was hell on earth. I quit there after 7 months and took a telemarketing sales job - I lasted 3 months. I’ve been offered a couple of really unstable, low paying jobs with no benefits (or that are 50 miles from my home) which I’ve thought of taking but decided to keep looking (because of my obvious track record). I literally have been praying to God for a miracle because I have been doing everything I know how to do to get a job. I just don’t know what to do anymore and I don’t even talk about my feelings to my friends/family because I know they’re sick of listening to me. I’m blessed to live with roommates who are allowing me to defer the rent but with that on my back - and the fact that my father borrowed me money as well…well, my guilt will not allow me to have any fun or enjoy life. I spend all my time looking for jobs or doing what I can around the house to make myself feel like I matter (cooking, cleaning, laundry etc…) I truly feel that if something doesn’t break soon, I’m going to lose my mind. Good luck to all those who are searching - I pray for your strength - it’s rough out here!

I didn’t really read anything yet; but if you do not have a job think of thinks you really enjoy doing and go from there. You may be able to start your own business and the government is all for that! If you enjoy cleaning call all the people you know and offer to clean for a reasonable price. Everyone is looking for a night babysitter to get out once in awhile. You can do these things until you get something. If you do not have a highschool diploma look into getting your GED that helps getting a job as well. Have you thought of going in the military? What a great experiance that is!

Wow. I really don’t feel so alone anymore. I haven’t had a stable job for 7 months, and I’m scared it might turn into 8 months. I’ve tried every resource and I’ve applied for every and any job available. I’m 26, single mother with a 6 yr. old. My account is -$$$. It’s really difficult to deal with financial misfortune. But guess what guys? I still have faith that a good job will come my way, as long as I don’t give up. I’m sure if all of you keep trying you will be rewarded accordenly. Never give up on your dreams. The reward will be worth the stuggle. :>

I know how it feels my friends. I spent 4 years in the Marine Corps and was discharged in 1991 due to an injury. Now, if you are applying for a job you are being asked if you have any injuries and if you lie and they find out benefits may be denied. I found odd jobs in construction with no benefits. In 1998 I had a DUI resuling in a misdemeanor conviction. This made it really hard for me to find any jobs at all. I went to college and earned a BA Degree in Legal Studies, however no law firm will hire you without any experience. In addition, even though I paid my dues to society I could not find a job due to the misdemeanor conviction. My wife is from England and we moved there in 2005. Best thing ever. I found a job with a major law firm in London, health care taken care of, 24 days paid vacation, sick leave with 75 % sick pay, paid holidays, pension scheme, free gym membership throught the firm and a nice affordable classy apartment. This country does nothing for its citizens, it only takes. I see that right now from my buddies coming back from Iraq, being treated like **** one of them had to hire a lawyer to get disability benefits. I am done with the US. I applied for British citizenship. Good luck to everyone. Please do not give up, find a way.

Dear God, I pray that You will be the Lord over “louisville6″’s work. May they bring You into every aspect of it. Give them enough confidence in the gifts You’ve placed in them to be able to seek, find and do good work. Open up doors of opportunity for them that no man can close. Develop their skills so that they grow more valuable with each passing year. Let them be like a tree planted by the stream of Your living water, which brings forth fruit in due season. May they never wither under pressure, but grow strong and prosper (Psalm 1:3). In the sweet and precious name of Jesus, thank You for hearing and answering our prayers. Amen.
“Let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands for us; yes, establish the work of our hands”. (Psalm 90:17).

This country has turned it’s back on it’s people and God. I don’t think he will save us this time. The rich will survive here but after this life, I don’t think most of them will do so well. They’ll be looking for work.

I graduated college about 5 months ago and I cannot find work. I had some good work experience while I was in school, however my job re-located in my last year of school. So I decided to take that time and go to school full time. (In the past I was working part time and going to school part time.) So now here I am out of school and I have college loans bearing down on me any month now and I can’t find a job. I’ve been able to interview with some good companies but I never wind up getting anywhere. I don’t know what to do anymore.

The problem is that you want the best job, its not that you cant get a job. Its better to pick oranges or other fruits from trees and get paid minimum wage than to kill yourself through the stress of being unemployed. And its your fault that you got trapped in the evils of usury. The love of money is the root of all evil, better to make yourself humble and pick fruits from trees like Adam and Eve. Living in the countryside is safer and healthier than living in the congested cities of pollution, vice, and sorrows.
