Where were you?
You can also watch events on Help.com as they happen
You should be seeing a midwife dureing your pregnancy not a doctor, you ony see the doctor if you have an illness or something like that, a midwife is there to keepan eye on how the baby is doing and will monitor you throughout the pregnancy. Early pregnancy she will only wish to see you about once a month and at about the begining of the third trimester she will maybe want to see you each week.
At LEAST once a month to the gynecologist.
But then it depends of the doctor and of the pregnancy.
I had a complicated pregnancy so had to go every week.
dosent a midwife cost money though?

Can you put a price on a healthy baby?
well your right but how much??
Did you not get told all this when you went to the docs to inform them you were pregnant?
Were you given any information as to what to do and when?
And if you think a midwife is expensive just wait for the next 20 years or paying for the child…
Not to mention if something happens with the pregnancy and the baby won’t be healthy…you’ll be wishing you went to see a doctor/midwife regularly for the rest of your life because that cost is NOTHING compared to the psychological/physical/financial situation you end up in if you diss the rules and something happens.
If you’ve gone to a doctor I’m surprised he/she didn’t tell you about the process, like Lazy Daze says.
no im lost on everything ive been to a gyn only once, and im 13 weeks and i just needed help on what i should do. i live in AZ alone with no family so i dont really have any help coming in…and i dont know where i go for a midwife or mommie classes or things like that…
You can get all the information you need at a hospital.
i went to my hospital and they dont tell me anything, i went there 1st when i took the test! i have an apmt. upcoming on the 30th but i wanted to do classes and i just wanted to know how often i should be seeing someone about the pregancy…
What kind of a hospital won’t help ya out with this?? No offence but go see another hospital eh…
I’d recommend 2 times a month or more often if you’re paranoid :P just take good care of yourself that matters everything. Don’t know how much it costs though, and no I haven’t had a baby myself.
Hospitals have the mommie classes…the midwives are at hospitals…
ok thank you!
Oh my. Your local healthcare workers are not doing a very good job. I’m actually not very surprised because I rarely hear good things about Arizona’s healthcare and economy.
Do yourself a favor and look in the phone book for midwives, birthing centers, or perhaps even Planned Parenthood (I don’t actually know much about that organization, but they could probably atleast point you in the right direction.) Just start calling clinics and tell the staff about your concerns and that you’re interested in being more proactive in your pregnancy since you don’t have any local family to help you. Then, go with the ones who seem friendlier and more attentive, and are willing to actually give you information about your different options rather than just force you to have your child in a certain way.
Don’t let any doctor or healthcare worker tell you that you HAVE to have your baby a certain way, unless it is entirely based on major health complications. There are still doctors out there who believe a woman should spend the entire childbirth practically strapped to the birthing table with her feet up in the stirrups, even if it takes more than a day. Find someone who is willing to make you feel as comfortable as possible about having your baby and who is willing to answer your questions and guide you along.

Unfortunately, in a lot of places in the U.S., hospitals try to discourage patients from seeking midwives or anything along the lines of a natural birth. Recently, some states have even been considering banning home births and reducing the options an expectant mother has to basically hospital treatment, claiming that everything else is “too dangerous.” It is a bunch of crap because American hospitals don’t like to lose money, even if it means better care for the patient.
what could happen if you miss one appointment at 7 months pregnant.and you have not been at you docter appointment that month.Would dcf get involed with the child and take it away from you.PLZ help me out this is my first child and i dont want it tooken away from me.
