How can I lose weight (dramatically)

without becoming anorexic or bulimic? Does anyone know how to lose a lot of weight in a 1-2 month time period?

truthfully, when losing weight you have a 98% chance that you’ll gain that weight back and even more, within the next 3 years. dramatic weight loss increases that chance drastically. when going on a diet you should lose about 2 lbs per week. any more is unhealthy and not reccommended. The best way to lose weight (while being healthy) is to exercise regularily and eat a variety of NUTRITIOUS foods. As well, portion control is key. Limit yourself to the recommended servings for your age group, and drink LOTS of water. Remember: Skipping meals slows your metabolism, meaning you’ll actually gain weight.

My theories:
You can eat alot and exercise ALOT
or
You can eat nothing(pecans) and exercise very little.

The fact is that weight gain is mostly over eating, because people don’t know that they need very little to stay active, most people over gorge and don’t realize how much they ate that they didn’t need.
Someone such as myself that is not very active doesn’t need 2000 calories.
Someone who runs, plays sports… often needs more than that.
Also don’t be afraid if you gain weight when you exercise, its called muscle XD

exercise wise you need to get your heart rate up for at least 30 minutes a day. that’s just a minimum.
then add in something small, something toning. like lifting weights or the elliptical for 15 minutes three times a week.
you can work up to (and at some point you should be) doing full on exercise 4 times a week.
alternate too. do kickboxing one day, then swimming the next.
you also need to get a pedometer. 10,000 steps a day baby.
the obvious food things, stay away from complex sugars and obviously bad for you foods.
eat whole grain, and low fat.
small frequent meals through out the day and drink waterwaterwater!
watch your beverage intake, a lot of hidden calories in there.
and also watch portion sizes, just read the box yeah?
oh and;
serve your food buffet style.
you can only have one serving of carbs per meal and 6 total in a day
eat as many vegetables as you want but try for at least 5.
fruits: you can only have three a day.
you can get seconds of meat if you’re still hungry. but ONLY if you’ve had another serving of veggies in between. (7 proteins total)
2 dairies a day and 1 multi vitamin + 2 servings of calcium
um never eat in front of the t.v.
always eat breakfast.
and most of all…just go seen a dietician!
this is also something the people at the “healthy for life” clinic told me.
small goals. little things add up. you have to go slow and steady.
btw.
fad diets don’t work.
also counting calories gets really tricky.
get a lot of sleep, that’s really important.
ah one more thing.
don’t starve yourself.
it makes you retain the fat, not lose it.

but most of all; GOODLUCK
=D

p.s. this is an automatic response to words like ‘fat’ and ‘diet’. this may not always apply, sorry, ignore me.
