My microwave is making a strange noise when in use.

The noise sounds like audio feedback. Does anyone know what could cause this and if it’s dangerous to operate a microwave that makes that sound?

usually means you have put metal in it…like a fork or something like that.

anyway eventually microwaves will do that and it just means the power isnt working properly and you have to get a new one.

Mine is doing the same thing. I found you by a google. I couldn’t identify the type of nose, till I found your post, and it does sound exactly like audio feedback (like on my Mom’s hearing aid).

Mine is barely a year old, and I KNOW nothing metal has been put in it, as I live alone. I also know we haven’t had a lighting storm in quite some time.

I hope you get a real answer thats helpful, besides many of us googling to find an answer, and getting your post. I’ll be checking back here.

My microwave is also making the “audio feedback” noise! Less than a year old. Probably have been using it for 9 months. Anyone figure this out yet? And no we do not put metal inside.

My microwave is doing the same thing, a year old. My mom did put tin foil in it when we first bought it. After I properly educated her on the use of a microwave, we have not put metal in it. It did not started ringing till a few days ago.

I’m too lazy, but phoning technical support for your microwave would most likely get you the answer.
