uslspct200 is correct and the one that has the highest income is the one that usually claims the credit. Hope this helps :-)

Yes 2 can. I am head of my household and my room mate is head of his household. We are not dependents of each other and are not related in any way.

I did… It is how I file every year. You are head of household if no one else can claim you as a dependent and you are paying rent/mortgage/property tax.
