I used to to my hair with Manic Panic a lot. It’s a vegetable-based dye, so it fades out fairly quickly, I would say three months absolute maximum before you’d have re-dye it and that’s if you don’t mind it looking faded. If you don’t wash your hair much, the dye will last longer, but please don’t let yourself have nasty hair just so you can keep your dye in longer. The color will also affect how quickly it washes out. Purples fade to grey pretty quickly, which can look pretty bad, but reds fade to pink and generally look okay. It also depends on how your hair is to start with. If you bleach it, the dye will last longer and the color will be more true to what’s in the jar. When I was dying my hair a lot, I kept it bleached almost white between colors. I’ve heard that Punky Colour dye lasts longer than Manic Panic, but I’ve never actually used it myself.
