god help: Recently my husband got hurt and had to have surgery. - Help.com

Recently my husband got hurt and had to have surgery.

He is self-employed, we have 3 children and I am a stay-at-home mom. Due to his injury, he is unable to work for the next 6-8 weeks and that is going to put a great strain on us financially. Because he is a sole-proprietor, he is not eligible to collect any benefits. My stress level is huge right now and I know that God can turn all things around for good but this is the first time in my life where I am just utterly overwhelmed! I have very good coping skills but having to take care of everything is taking its toll. My washing machine just broke so that only adds to my frustration(and several trips to the laundry mat). My children are 6, 5 & 2 and aren’t able to help with much so much of the burden is on me. I feel like yelling, “Calgon, take me away!! Far away!!”

Wow. This is a really terrible turn of events. Try not to think about all the entire laundry list of problems at once. Keep the focus small and handle problems as they come up. I wish your family the best. Feel free to write back. At least you can find sympathy.
