Using Help.com…

I’m 18 and lacking of worldly experience. How do the older members of Help.com fell about getting advice about worldly matters from those so young. If it were I, I’d find it somewhat patronizing.

What are your views. I already have a list of pro’s and con’s in my head. But this is a very subjective thing.

I say that online there is always the chance the someone is just being fake and not really being honest about themselves…

I think if you are sincere and have good intentions people will see that and extend respect to you whether you are 18 or 80…everyone has helpful things to say sometimes

Wisdom does not come with age… wrinkles come with age… wisdom is inherent.

Advice and opinions don’t do much for me, but I notice that if someone treats me with good intention it tends to make my life better. People are so deep and vast and amazing…

(I’m not older so I don’t know if I count) Do you realize the ages when you are talking to someone? I usually don’t. Also, sometimes people with age get stuck in their ideas. Youth is still discovering their ideas- so sometimes they give fresher advice.

‘My wife has left me, I’ve been stuck in a dead end job for the past 15 years. where do I turn’ suggests they are older than me.

‘I’ve just reached the menopause, my emotions are a mess’ - again, something that 1) happens later in life and 2) 5′m unlikely to experience (being male).

‘I’m due to retire next year but I’m worried about my pension plans…’

You get the idea…

It’s natural I think, the more we’re older, the more problems we have, you’re online when lots of adult member online and they want to post and share something, but I found sometimes when online, a lots of more younger member post and want to talk about everything from first menstruation, sibling problems, parents problem, school, even bad hair day.

I think I agree with most people in here, I don’t see ages when I want some advise or sharing my story of life, maybe they got some thinking I’ve never thought about that could help me rest my mind.
and I know every person who joined help.com even at the first time maybe they just looking for help, if they stay here more often, they must be wants to help others too, so helping each other, don’t care about age, religion, races…
people wants to help other people in here, at least that’s how I feel about help.com :)

Prophet Jesus even as a child was putting learned elders and Rabbi’s in their place. Wisdom and knowledge transcends our notions of age, it is foolishness that one should be aware of.
