If it’s a matter of respect - perhaps you need to step back and let him hash this out with his grandfather. Maybe you can come to a compromise and maybe you can respect that he needs to take this break.

If it’s a matter of money - well, babe, you lucked out. If he’s choosing money over you then he isn’t worth it.
