i often obsess over things that are complete fantasy

i read novels and think i am the characters or watch movies and then practice the conversations im going to have with the people in them no matter what happens it seems i am never satisfied with reality, i always get lost in my imagination and never pay attention to the world around me i want there to be a climax and a dramatic ending i want everyone to see me, im starting to think i have ocd i want to fly away!!

i’m exactly like you. sometimes it hurts so much and i just need to get away, i find comfort in reading fantasy books and imaging things. but i’ve realised that its like a temporary fix. the people in our books can’t solve our problems for us, its only you who can do that. i’m sure that the people in books (the heroines) would fix problems and find a better life and improve their situations themselves, and i guess i’ve figured that sometimes things don’t have to be as perfect as they are in books, because when you step back and see the smaller things i’m sure you’ll realise that you have a great life. start a hobby! join an art class! learn latin, there are so many things you focas in on, so many things that will give you joy other than reading and fantasising, why not try to write a book?. and as for the climax, i’m sure you’ll find it soon. you sound like someone who needs adventure, why not try travelling for a bit, clear your head and get a new perspective on things, ok, i know i’ve droned on for a bit but i hope this helps.

love

p.s. you don’t need to stop reading just slow down a bit.

I say dream and let fantasy envelope you completely, reality just wouldnt be exciting if fantasy didnt exist. Some of us are dreamers friend… and if you’re smiling while your in a fantasy…what reason would there ever be to stop? and why would anyone ever think its bad. Everyone’s in such a big rush to grow up , dont listen to them…cause i promise you once you get there one of ur leading thoughts will be ” i wish i was young again…and that the magic was still there” So keep on dreaming my friend , theres nothing wrong with you.
