Evolution & Charles Darwin True/False Questions.
I’m absolutely clueless on this subject. (I’m horrible at science)
Anyway, True or False?
1. Although his idea was incorrect, Lamarck was one of the first people to propose a scientific explanation for creationism.
2. Darwin concluded that in similar environments around the world, natural selection could produce similar structures in unrelated species.
3. According to Darwin’s theory of evolution, all species on Earth are united by common descent.
4. Darwin proposed that natural selection takes place as indivisuals best suited to the life survive and reproduce.
5. Earth’s least dense elements, including hydrogen and nitrogen, formed the planet’s first atmosphere.
Thank you bunches! :)

Evolution, hahahahaha what a bunch of garbage. I’m no science expert but I think #’s 3 and 4 are true. Sorry, don’t know the rest.
Thank you. :)
I can’t believe our grade depends on this kind of stuff.
evolution? What a bunch of garbage? And i suppose you reckon the world was created by a bearded, loin clothed man, with a penchant for parables then?

Well sort of, I believe that the world was created by (intelligent design) by God.
same thing really. christian god, other god? Agnostic? Any reason other than your apparent wonderment at the marvels of creation?
“Christian God” reasons: since where on the topic of “the world/how things were created and how they work” I’ll say, there are too many things in the world that didn’t just happen.
thats true, but they don’t necessarily point to christian god, they point perhaps to a form of creation, and this could be entirely arbitrary
I believe in the God, the Christian God because I know Him. He changed my life, leaving me to believe in only one explanation, that He is real.
Really? What was this experience like, how did it manifest itself? Many others believe the same about their God, why do you think this happens? I don’t mean to be disrespectful, I am just forever curious about this age old argument.
mmm why is it that religious people never want to discuss their faith unless they’re preaching
Well I hope your not just “pulling my chain” but anyway I’ll tell you in short. I had a lot of fear in my life and kept trying to overcome it but I kept failing. At the same time I heard preachers on t.v. speaking and felt the Holy Spirit moving me. Now I didn’t know it was the Holy Spirit at the time and this entire situation took a long time to unfold. But one night I felt this feeling, these is no way to describe it other than a great feeling that told me and caused me to ask Jesus into my heart to become saved. After this experience which caused me to go from a relaxed state to trembling and crying state I began to see how God has shaped me through events in my life.
sorry, thats fair enough I suppose, I’ve just never come close to that kind of belief.. there’s no harm in it if it helps. I just think its difficult because its something that demands unequivocable belief.
I generally believe that people who have such strong faith were indoctrinated form birth or were emotionally vulnerable due to life experiences. In your case you say you were going through tough times, that your life changed over a period of time, and you were filled with the feeling that this must be god. I would generally say that your emotional instability meant that you needed something to get you through dark times, and believing in this higher power gave you hope. This resulted in a massive sense of relief, in short your religion makes it easier to understand and cope with the hardships of life.

Once you know God you can put your trust in Him. Yes there are times I don’t understand why certain things happen to me or to anyone but I trust that it will all work out for good.

Yes I was going through dark times when I came to Christ and yes having faith in God helps us through hard times but it also gives us a “new life.” A new understanding , new motive and reasons for living.
Because we most people are prideful, we feel as if we can do it on our own. That is why God needs to bring us to “rock bottom.” so we will turn to Him.
mmm, thats fair, the thing I find difficult is that fact, that I should turn my free will over to a god and be obedient to him for my own sake, I’ve been through hard times, but God has never come to me, and if he did, he might be buddhist, or Islamic or whatever.. Whats more I got through it all, and he was absent, and all the horrible things that happen in the world, isn’t ‘god works in mysterious ways’ a cop out? And we have free will so that we can choose his path - why isn’t there more guidance, isn’t he just forsaking the people he chooses to ignore, the ones with awful lives
God values all of our free will that is why He didn’t force us to believe in Him. God uses hard times to develop us that is why we go through them. God allows these horrible things to happen in part to bring people closer to Him. Also some of those horrible things happen because people choose to do evil acts. Think about it, God being all knowing and all powerful can do things that we don’t understand because He doesn’t think like us. And there is guidance, it is in the Bible in Jesus’ teachings and God is always open for us to turn to Him.
The God of the Bible is real because the Bible speaks the truth. Now your saying, well thats no evidence. But in fact the Bible is proven to be true. It’s proven in it’s prophecy, all of the predictions have come true already and some are still to come. And the prophecy of Jesus Christ’s return is one of them. The Bible has predicted the rise and fall of nations and that includes the things that are going to happen and are happening to the U.S. right now. There are many other prophecies in the book of revelations. But you still might be wondering why should I give up my free will to God? Well, since the Bible has predicted numerous events in history and has never been wrong, surly it came from an all knowing God and surly it will not be wrong in the future. With that said, the Bible predicts Christ’s return, judgment and His destruction of evil. Now what could be better than living forever in a world without evil? Nothing could be better. That is why you should except Christ as Savior.b wrote:

The central proof of the Bible is Christ. And the Gospels are where we will look. Lets test them using the four rules for proving the credibility of any document.
1- Was the Author an eye witness to the events he wrote about?
- Yes he was. You see Matthew was alive during the time of Christ and he witnessed Christ’s crucifixion. He wrote the book of Matthew less than 40 years after. He wrote to those who were alive at the time and witnessed the same events that he did. With that said, how could some make up a lie and get those who were alive and the time of the supposed lie to believe him. He could not. Matthew would have faced a large amount of criticism and possible have been exiled for it. You see there is no way anyone could make up a story and tell it to those who are around them without serious consequences. But the people who he wrote to and talked to believed because they witnessed it.
2- Was there independent witnesses to prove the author’s reliability?
- Yes there were many. At the time of Christ’s crucifixion, Jerusalem was filled with many people. Christ was crucified during the time of the passover, where some 2 million or more Jews were in Jerusalem. The more people to witness to these events the more difficult it would be to fabricate them and get people to believe them.
3- Did the disciples continue their belief until their death?
- Yes they did. They gave up their lives for what they believed. Now if the writers of the Gospel’s were lying, why would they give up their lives for a lie? They could have admitted it was a lie and face a lesser punishment. But they didn’t, they truly believed what they saw and heard form Jesus. Even though they would face horrific deaths.
4- Were there witnesses who were present at the time these events took place who did not believe but still said that these events occurred?
- Yes, Paul was convinced that the resurrection of Christ did not happen and no one was more determined to disprove it then Paul. He also had many of the elders in the Jewish nation backing him. All of them had “theological” arguments against Christ’s resurrection. The practical and logical evidences did not shake their “theological” minds. His mind was closed to any acceptance of it. He must have used every intellectual argument to dispute the possibility of the resurrection which thousands of Christians were excepting. Now as you can see Paul was a very intelligent man who had all things pointing him away from Christ. But what was the final belief of Paul? Paul believed the practical evidence and became a witness for Christ. Paul never turned back, he maintained his faith in Christ until his execution for his believes. Paul was so certain in Christ’s resurrection that everyone who came in contact with him understood what his believes were. And they were certain that Paul was convinced of the major proofs of Christianity. Because of Paul’s conviction and the other apostles the Roman world would be convinced of the reality of Christ in three short years.
Actually that proofs everything. And why are you stuck on the earliest surviving physical copy? Matthew wrote the Gospels between 60-100 AD. So that gives you a maximum (if you are correct) 300-60= 240 years. How much could it have changed? Not that much. No matter when it was all that matters is that Paul brought the message of Christ to the Roman world. Yes, there was a lot of hostility towards Christians and there has always been and will continue to the end of days. But none the less the Roman world became Christian.
[quote] With that in mind, it is clear to us that what we “think” we know about Christ’s life and the lives of his earliest followers is often incorrect, making evangelizing such beliefs somewhat of a perilous circumstance.[quote]
What matters is not dates and specific times, its God’s love portrayed through Christ and the teachings throughout the entire Bible. It really comes down to a giant love story and what God wants you to do, which is love Him as He loved us. I could argue with you all day about fact and fiction. But that won’t get anywhere. The bottom line is that we were created so that God would love us and we would love Him. That is why Christ died for us, to break the sin barrier between God and humans.
WHAT UP?
I have been through alot of things in my life, God and Jesus have helped me thrrough it all. God is amazing, if only everyone could see how much love he has for us!
In fact, if it wasn’t fot Jesus, I would not be here today. I was born 3 months early, weighing a mere 1 lb 11 oz. How and why I survived only the Lord knows, but I love him for it. If you would just give God and Jesus a chance, they will change your life for the better in so many ways!
i think that you should make a new website and you should have a website that has a bar at the top and you can type a question and you will answer it
its scientifically proven, so its not garbage you idiot! how ignorant of you!
