I need some very serious and “real” advice regarding financial situation which is near perilous/disastrous condition.
The last type of “advice”…from a get outta debt relief site…cost me hundreds….plus time effort…
Due to divorce, and addictions which have now been silent for +seven years…my financial situation was at best..dismal…but I stopped my addictive behavior..in a effort to clean-up my life….and just started a really fantastic career…..problem is….everyone/former creditors/IRS/child-support….all want the money….and I am backed into a corner…..as an example…..300 people wanting 20.00 each…and I have thirty dollars to split etc….and they ALL SAY…OUR’s FIRST….
don’t know where to turn…or what to do….IRS wants to seize bank-accounts….assets….if I lose my car….I will lose this incredible opportunity to become financially solvent…its a catch-22 type game..or so it seems….Hell..If I had just stayed drunk for another twenty yrs…I never would have noticed…..and just kept going….but I know there are people way worse-off than me…who have MADE it….and I want to be one of them too…..
thanx for listening…hopefully there is someone who has “been there”…and knows the way out of this nightmare…..

I haven’t been there, but I just wanted to say that even though this not at all a
good situation you should be very proud of yourself for stopping your addictions
and landing a great job. You are moving in the right direction at becoming a better person.
Good things happen to good people. it just takes more time then we’d like.
Good luck!
If you know that you can pay them off you can take out loans to pay off the things you need to pay off. This is risky though, so only do it if you know you will be able to pay it off. Otherwise you can declare bankruptcy. I’m pretty sure you’re allowed to keep your house and car. There are probably some other solutions avaialable, but I don’t have much experience in this area. Hope it works out for you.
There are some decent non-scam-artist debt consolidation companies out there that can help. They’ll “call off the dogs” in most cases and help buy you some time to get your finances together.
If that doesn’t work, there’s always ebay! :) I am in the process of climbing out of financial despair myself, I sold almost everything I had of value on eBay & craigslist.com to pay off all my bills. Sounds crazy, but it worked. And I still have my car, which almost got reposessed.
Best of luck, my friend, I know where you’re coming from.
I feel your pain. At this moment I don’t know what to do though I have my family, all the work I’ve done to leave my something to my kids is in jeopardy and the thought of bankrupcy has crossed my mind. I hope you make it through…I hope i do as well.
Get the book “Total Money Makeover” by Dave Ramsey. He has been there. This is not a “Look at me and what I did Book”, it is the real deal for real people. I hope this helps…..

John Iam in the same situation perhaps worse! For Years I have financially supported my family, at my own worse detriment! Two years ago things went bad for me I lost a baby, lost my partner, my friend broke her neck and i had to leave work. Abit of counselling from my doctor and thats it. I find myself frightened to go home to the mass of bills I have if I still have a home! Not surviving on incapacity benefit and my family have deserted me!
I have on the upside fallen pregnant at the grand age of 40 and met the love of my life. Before this miracle occured I could only think of ending it all. I am trying desperatley to get someone to help me give me advise, im trying to be strong. Have you found any help? can you help me?
Contact the Taxpayer Advocate Office (IRS) and explain. They are the branch of the ITS that answers only to congress and is setup to HELP YOU IF NEED THEM!!! Ask them to help you set up a liveable (small to start with) payment arrangement…once done then contact Consumers debt protection agency…set up small amount to ea creditor every month. They will speak to them and handle the payments…you only have to see to it that you send them (or drop off) the right amount every week (two weeks-month-whatever you set up) you can even set up an automatic deduction from a savings or checking account (which you will open if you have not already done so with one of your paychecks). check Consumers Union and your states attorney generals office tomake sure the debt repayment people you are using are not “for profit”. they will charge an amount for doing this but it should be small. Things that are on your credit report and debts older than 7 years old should have dropped off your credit report. If they are still on your report or the people are now trying to collect what was previously deemed uncollectible…well, thats up to you. Your credit report should only go back seven years…anything older than that you have a right to challenge and have removed.Do not give up!!! Hope some of this help
With the current credit crisis you need to take charge of your credit. Learn what you can do to understand the credit process and what you can do to track and repair problems that may appear on your credit report. Easy to understand and implement. Hidden secrets reveled. How the process work and what you can do.
you need to consult a lawyer now! find out your legal options are. the IRS will work with you, but you need someone that knows the laws and can speak up for your rights. look at it this way they will take everything if you let them so don’t if you don’t know how to stop them then you need to find someone that can! something can be done. don’t give up because then you will loose everything.
Never borrow money. Work. Keep your eyes open and don’t delude yourself. Always keep in touch with the people you do owe money and always be TOTALLY honest with them. If they cannot accept the situation, that is their problem.
If I loan money to someone who can not pay it back, I am also responsible for bad judgement and have to pay a price.
If all else fails and the hounds wont get off your back…leave.
I know this sounds like running away but sometimes there is no other way than to go away and start over. It is a last option, a very, very last option but it is better than jail or suicide or whatever other punishment you or your creditors can think up. Unfortunatly the U.S. is a big place and creditors have long arms but…rarely cross international borders.
actually my brother in every difficult you should found opportunity ,and its you time to look for means out .second trust you maker and pray hard and things will be o.k

Spain is nice, Mexico is closer.
While I agree with your comment on never borrowing money, I would think long and hard about leaving the country unless you do it in the broad light of day. Fleeing will not stop the problem, I think.
I don’t think the IRS wants to destroy you, they just want you to pay. If you simply cannot, I think maybe the IRS will just want you back on the rolls paying. heaven knows they need every taxpayer they can get right now.
Besides, they are only carrying out the will of those we elect. Running won’t help solve the problems. Stay and fight and work it out.
Stay. Recover. Help us put people in office who will stop spending to pay for votes and for every a$$hole who thinks they are entitled to a part of your check.
Uh…only leave the country as a VERY last resort. I said it was an option to jail or suicide and I stand by that advice. I do not advocate running away from debt but… it is a better option than the latter two.
As far as the IRS. They have destroyed plenty of people. My very honest mother was hounded for 8 years for a debt she did not owe. The IRS finally agreed THEY had made a mistake but….only after 8 years of hell for my mother. She got NO compensation for her troubles and NO apology from the IRS. F*#!k the IRS!!
“They need every taxpayer they can get right now” What does that mean?
the IRS does NOT carry out the will of those I vote for!
As far as those a$$holes who think they are entiltled to your check….thats the people in washington your talking about…right?
