My dog just chewed up part of my check i needed for rent tomorrow…

He chewed off the top right part and half of the check number is missing. Anyone have any clue if this would cash?

It is ALL the money i have towards rent and I really really do not want to sell my laptop as i am a web designer and its my JOB- i’d have to get a whole new job just because of this!

should not really matter much.
the first series of numbers on the bottom of your check is the routing numbers
the second series is your account, and the third is the check number.
those numbers are all that really matters in the long run.

Interesting thing about checks. . .

A cehck is what is called a ‘bank negotiable note’ or something like that. A check has to:

1) have the routing and account number listed in full
2) have the amount stated
3) have the signature of the account holder

The rest of the terms are set by the recipient of the check (address, phone number, license number etc)

A famous example of this is a man who wrote a check on a watermelon rind.

:121909230:00111222121||`2922

The numbers that are still there are 126____8P

And it doesn’t have the last part where the check number would be… it stops after the account number… i promise. im looking at it right now…

Well its actually from State Farm Insurance. It is a return i had which just so happened was enough to cover my rent. I’ve been sick lately so i didn’t work as much and relied on this to do the trick. Should of cashed it sooner but like i said, i haven’t felt well enough to get out of bed.

It’s from there corporate or something.

I have cashed the first check they sent me awhile ago so i do have that history with them and my account if it matters.

Your just going to have to try it.
you might call state farm and see if they can get someone to call the bank if need be.
