It will be hard for the first month or so, but you will get used to it quicker than you would think. Call them everyday if you have to, then it doesn’t feel like you are leaving them behind as much

I know its very difficult, make new friends in college with whom you can share your thoughts more openly. You can call your family and friends everyday!!

how far away are you going, and how long until you will get to see them?

I went through the same thing. It’s hard and nothing can make it go away but time. Visit often but not like every week. I’ve been away at college for four years now and am married now and the best thing that helped me was staying busy.

At first I became a hermit crab and sat in my room. That makes it worse. Be outgoing. Make your self talk to people. Do the dorm activities. You’ll be surprised how much other freshmen will relate to you because they miss their families too.

Good luck in college, its a blast if you’d just take a chance. ;)

Oh and don’t be a sissy and run back home and quit college after your first year. (a lot of freshmen want to, I wanted to) This is the best time in your life to grow up with other people going through the same thing. Take advantage of this.
