Where were you?
You can also watch events on Help.com as they happen
If you have dreams then to reach your goal could be a motivation for you. Be inspired, get the help of your friends, believe that you can do it.
not sure who my friends are anymore… time’s a wasting no dreams …. just lost
what are youre hobbies or talents?
Have you ever traveled? Just pick a place and go! Most likely you will have to do something to prepare for it.
I want to find a job but that’s proving difficult. I lack confidence I think too much. At the moment nothing interests me . Thanks Chef
My grad professor once said to me, “Pick something, anything, visualize yourself doing that thing in the future. Then work backwards to where you are today. Uknown to yourself, you’ve just made a plan.” Best advice I ever had.

Awesome
no responses to my applications thus far. Thanks krezebebe that sounds like a plan. Part of the problem is that i feel i’ve forgotten things that i used to know how to do well and i’m apprehensive about new things….
What new things do you want to try?
learning anything new seems like a challange now . I used to pick up things real quick now it’s difficult. Feel like a ditz used to read a lot now i find it hard to keep at it
are you done with high school, college?
Are you able to account the lack of motivation and difficulty reading to any particular occurrence or new behavior?
yes.i had a bout of depression or something and quit my job -questioned everything about myself-quit all my volunteer work - don’t know who my friends are anymore…. so am feeling lost and unsure about things. Don’t know how to get back to where I was.
It’s been a while and i’m tired of the present state of affairs want things to change but don’t have the motivation to do anything .Yes in the previous reply is to being done with school etc.
I deal with intermittent depression myself so I know how you feel. What was it about your job that made you unhappy?
“The gem cannot be polished without friction, nor man perfected without trials.”
–– Chinese proverb
most of the time I get depressed, I just think about the people that love me and the people I love, and how lucky I am to have them.

That’s beautiful and true but hard to live through
my family is not very demonstrative so it’s hard to come by affection. my mum just loses her temper when things go wrong.
Well, I am sure she loves you.
Being mom is often high stress.
brb, laundry
Thanks Chef she does in her own way but sometimes it needs to be shown or else you just get a feeling of emptiness
Work wise, looking back it was a good job but it was very time critical and there was no time to be taught the job also pressure to fit in
Was it your job that got you down or was it something else?
lots of things. Got to the point where I was not thinking straight. i don’t know that it was any specific thing.i was really tired and not eating much too
Lots of things. I feel everything is passing me by. other people my age have achieved much more. here i am still stuck
All signs of clinical depression. Are you currently on medication?
have you talk to anyone you trust about this aside from people on-line?
lol yeah I know what you mean. but so what? You are probably more advanced than them in some respects as well.

I sleep 4 hours a day
Yeah I’m right about there too…maybe some people just need less sleep than others. . .
All I want to do is sleep. Just for time to pass. I get grouchy without enough sleep
but of course that is not possible I really need to snap out of this….
WOW you both really are motivated and full of beans
Sleeping too much is sometimes a sign of depression.
I will now try to make you laugh

hobbies are always a great thing
I feel you. Your answer is contained in your question: the word “do”. When you are stuck as you are, use your body to help your soul - do this through “doing” - or movement. Move. Create motion. At first, it doesn’t matter what the motion is, just move. Clean your room - take out the trash - go for a walk - move. Eventually, your spirit will move you toward doing the most helpful things for you. Good wishes to you, God bless you.
gewt motivation
get off your ***,
and clean something
go for a walk
anything
Joyce Meyer is a great speaker,
knows about depression, been through a lot
she does podcasts tv, and radio
maybe ,you just need to give your self a break, and think about the good thinks you have done, everybody feel be bad from time to time its ok.
just jump into life and dont think about, it you will be fine i had the same thing happen to me, but all you can do is get up and do it and as long as you do your best w/100% in it then dont worry about anything you seem like a good person so dont hold back
good luck
I suggest you eat some happy food, cheezecake… drink a pop. Then go play an MMORPG like WoW, Final Fantasy XI, or Lineage or Everquest!
Sounds like you’ve either worked your brain dry or
fail to realize why you do anything because you’re feeling tired on the inside but not in terms of sleepiness.
(All I can think of.)
You know what you should really do if you have time on your hands and you dont want to be the person you are right now. you should join an organization that helps people who have been been devestated by nature and natural cause. My teacher told me his story it was like yours but he joined this group called HOND and at the time they were helping gut the houses in New Orleans. He stayed for 8 and when it was his time to leave he was a changed person from everyone who was there. So you should try it, it just might be what your looking for to get you motivated about life again. You will also make some good friends in the process.
I will day dream when I lack the motivation to do anything else. Then I will play the Sims2 for hours on end. Sometimes my brightest moments come in the middle of the night.
I have the same problem. There is no motivation for me to do anything either! But recently, I have started to pull out of my 9 year slump. I am not out completely though. Earlier this week I stopped over and Jenny Craig to get an idea of what they were all about and then signed up, but did not join until last night. I had to wait for my mom to go because she wanted to join with me. So, last night we ended up joining Jenny Craig, so today is my first Step in the right direction! I am excited about it. I need to loose weight and keep it off. I need to change my lifestyle too! I am just a little upset about not getting a chance to exercise this morning. I get off work late and heard you really should not exercise too late at night if you want it to be successful. My advice to you…take it slow. One step at a time. Something is better than nothing! The other thing I have noticed, I try to change too much too fast, then i do not stick with it. Once in a while you can find the will power and strength to keep up the goals, but usually it only last a few days. I am not going to freakout too much about not getting some of my goals done or started. I am just going to worry about getting this whole food routine down. Master one thing at a time, in the order or priorities. :o)
Set a goal !
Start to think about what you want to do with your life, how you are going to use the time you have while you are alive.

Peace !
Thank you all for all your suggestions
Lifes a *****, everything is tough but you know what, in the end how bad do you want to make something of yourself. If you really want to stop being lazy, you will force yourself to stop. If you want to get out of the state of mind you must work at it. NOTHING IS EASY, EVERYTHING COMES WITH HARD WORK AND YOU MUST BE IN IT TO WIN IT.
