Hmmm… anything from The Fray comes to mind. Or Damien Rice. Or some Snow Patrol. Or Wires by Athlete. Or Coldplay. Or… well, basically my whole playlist -_-”
Wires bt Athlete is the best one though.
The songs from the movie, “Cinema Paradiso” make me sad. And funny I was just mentioning to a friend some of the old 80s Chicago songs make me feel a bit nostalgic or sad. Here was a post about sad songs from a while back…
All songs from Vast
Joseph Arthur - A Smile That Explodes
Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah
Patrick Watson - Falling Man
Led Zeppelin - Going To California
mercury rev album entitled “desert songs”..beautiful and depressing-the whole album!
The good the bad and the queen- green fields..
nick cave- knockin on joe
Angel by Sarah Maclachlan
Anything by Damien Rice, though The Animals Were Gone has some particularly sad lines in. Anything by Radiohead, especially Fake Plastic Trees and No Surprises - though if you are more than sad you might want to get some help.
Eric Clapton’s Tears in Heaven. He wrote that song in memory of his late son. I lost my son in death and that song reminds me of that. One of the saddest songs that affect me personally.
Jail - DOWN (Nola)
Sappy(ac) - Nirvana
Suicide note Pt I - Pantera
Black Eyed Dog - Nick Drake
How to disappear Complitelly - Radiohead
Bokends themes - Simon ‘n Gurfuncke
… and so on
Just killing time - Black label society
Motion Picture Soundtrack - Radiohead
Mad World - Gary Jules
Zero-Sum - Nine Inch Nails
Hide And Seek - Imogen Heap
Lua - Bright Eyes
Hallelujah - Jeff Buckley
- Please be careful with this list, it’s really a dangerous combination, these all make me cry, and they are the saddest I’ve ever heard.
watch me bleed- scary kids scarong kids
Change - Tracy Chapman
Buwkoski- Modest Mouse
Tragedy - Brandi Carlile
