Love help: I’m completely in love with someone I can’t be with. - Help.com

I’m completely in love with someone I can’t be with.

He’s on a mission and it’s the hardest thing to get through everyday with out him. I never got to tell him how I felt before he left and I don’t want to say anything while he’s out…i don’t want to distract him. But it gets so hard sometimes and there are nights I can barely keep myself together. I’ve got a year and a half left and I just wish there was something I could do…to make it easier. I’ve tried to meet other guys but none of them even come close to how great this guy is. I don’t know what to do.

You need to tell him. What kind of a mission is he on?

An LDS mission. If I tell him, I run the risk of him replying that it just wouldn’t work out and that He needs to focus on his mission and I need to focus on school. I think that might break my heart more than having to wait so long.

I have kinda same situation now. Im in love with someone but he is going to be a student in a foreign country so we said goodbye but I still love him but thinking of his future makes me not to tell him about my feelings.. Btw do you think that he loves you?

Then wait. But you know, every second you don’t tell him only makes it harder. At least if he says that, and your heart breaks, at least it’ll get better. But I know–waiting is heck!

It sucks..and it’s really hard. I’m not sure I could handle his rejection. I think he has an idea of how much I feel for him. And I think he feels the same. I met him only a month before he left and we got really close. I get to e-mail him and in his family forwards his e-mails home to me and he slips little messages into them special for me, almost like in code. And sometimes out of no where in his e-mail it’ll say like, “I love everyone!!! yes you too!” and I can’t help but think it’s me he’s saying it too.

I keep thinking about how I’m going to start the letter that I’m sending to his mission president to give to him on their last meeting before he comes home. I hate waiting :( I’m SO impatient

You could just write it and keep it. But then you might just keep rewriting it. I do that sometimes.

what would I even say…if I’m too forward I could scare him off before he even gets home, but I’ve got to at least let him know a little bit about how I feel and how I’ve missed him and hope to be with him.

hmm…just tell him what you told us here. Minus the parts about him saying no, of cousre. The good thing about writing it way before you send it, is that it gives you time to improve it.

Haha. Like a rough draft that I can revise and revise for a whole year and a half.

Yeah. I was was going to write a letter to this guy I liked alot, and I rewrote it like twenty times, just to get it right, and then I didn’t like the final copy, but I gave it to him anyway.

This is going to sound very adolescent of me seeing as older people are always talking about how the younger generation does everything through text but, I actually wrote a text that I wanted to send that pretty much professed my love, and I’ve saved it. Maybe I can incorporate that into the actual letter. This must sound completely pathetic to you all.

No, it sounds like my life, actually! :) Yeah, the text, if it’s not too mushy might work.

when they are on a mission, you can’t talk to them except through letters and sometimes e-mails. no phone calls and believe it or not I can’t just drop into Brazil and say hello :P
