Nah, I think idiots do. People like to make these excuses and scapegoats (”it was heavy metal music!” “it was gun laws!” “his mother didn’t love him enough!”), but really, it’s just a bunch of pissed off teenage boys who get bullied. Someone pushes you hard enough, at a certain point you push back. These kids were just too weak to make their points higher.

hmm… that is a good question. To more clearly know the answer to the question, we need to know more of the question. school shootings occur for many reasons i’m sure. and there is no one answer to the question, but it does raise many questions, like “would higher gun laws stop them…” “could music be a factor” “is it human nature, or human nuture?” that makes people hurt people?

There have been instances where school shootings have been tied to Benzos and other anti depressants. For more info check out: http://www.myaddiction.com/prescripti…

I really dont think it has anything to do with the medication , i take anti depressants and struggle to keep taking them , so for over a year i was off them but i was just getting worse, i never went out and killed the people who gave me a hard time tho,i think its mor to do with the person and not the illness or meds
people with mental illness are more at risk in harming themselves then someone else
I really recommend people learn about stigma.

If anything Benzo’s make you Less motivated, not more motivated. Drugs like valium are in the same class of drugs, and are commonly used as a sedative or as an anticonvalutant. Although I (personally) believe the prescription drugs are as dangerous as street drugs, I don’t think it’s fair in this case to blame the behavior on the benzo’s

HOWEVER many times people take downers (like benzo’s) to counteract the uppers, like meth. After they’ve been up for a week straight they NEED something to let them sleep…

Benzos, perc, heroin, pot, alcohol, legal, illegal, all do the exact same thing. They regulate brain chemistry. If you are lucky enough to have a doctor to help you regulate your mental illness thats great. Many times though mental illness is untreated by a doctor and thus is treated by the affected person (badly). This is where addiction comes in. The shooter was obviously mentally ill and was not getting effective treatment and thus the rational part of the brain became defective and the tragedy occurred.

And yes “mother didn’t love me is a great excuse”. Lack of supporting family will create a brain that is unable to regulate mood appropriately and mental illness results.
