Ignorance or Just Plain Stupid?

Is it just me or do the majority of people now use the word ignorant sinonimously or interchangeable with stupid, dumb, idiotic et al. Does this bother anyone?

I’ve done that several times recently, for the first time in my life. I am fairly sure it is from reading messages in which “ur” is the word for “your” or “you’re”.

For ignorance to equal stupidity is idiotic. It’s a toddler saying, “You’re ignoring me so your stupid.” Or, alternatively, “I’m smart so I’m right.”

There’s something dumb about that last set of sentences but at least I explored the issue a little.

We’re agreed then, we might have to make this a Ballot issue on the 08′ ticket.

No that doesn’t bother. That isn’t ignorance per se, it might be calllous disregar for etiquette, grammar, et al but it isn’t ignorant. That would most likely fall under the plain stupid portion. See what I mean? Oh, and thanks for apologizing, that’s very nice of you.

ok u lost me but thats okay alot of things go over my head these days lol btw im reallllllllllly into spelling and u spelled some words wrong dont take it personally i correct everyones spelling its kinda like my pet peeve–no offense

That’s actually pretty cool, I don’t really mind it, although when typing I type in such a rush I tend to misspell when typing even if I know the words, and I don’t like proof-editing so how about I just consider you my freelance editor. Works for me.

What bothers me is that there is a very ignorant spellig mistake people make, using ’s to signify plural words (ex: you guy’s), something I notice you are guilty of in your first post…
