I would like to ask the Christians on this site a question.

Paul says in the Bible that for him to live is Christ and to die is gain. What does this scripture mean to you? I would like to point out that I asked for answers from Christians. Not that all answers aren’t welcome and not that the rest of you don’t have the right to be on this or any post, but I don’t want arguments. I want serious replies. Thank you all for your coooperation.

To me it means that while we should make the best of our lives while we are here and that to die is not a scary thought but the ultimate culmination of a life lived in Christ with the ultimate gain to be with him for eternity.

REmember all gains on earth is temporary. This is the serious goal and premanent.

This come from Phil 1:21. I understand Paul to be saying as he is living with Christ there are no disadvantages (To live is Christ) as living in Christ was paradise and to die is gain this paradise eternally. So, his dying will not be an disadvantage because he will be with Christ once and for all. So, for Paul there was no fear of death. He knew exactly what was to come. I tie this with Paul’s vision when he went to the third heaven 2 Corinthians Chapter 12 and heard unspeakable words. I believe that these words are a great testimony to his faith and his experiences. We must remember that Paul led a life full of experiences with and of the Lord. He experienced miracles first hand therefore he had no doubts about who he was in the Lord. I hope this helps.

Christ lives within in every Christian. When you die you gain eternal life.
