Your boot INI files are corrupted try pressing F8 after it reboots and select Last known good configuration. If it still does not load try a partical restore that should work. Hope this helps :-)

If you have a little yellow icon in the bottom right hand corner then it is Microsoft that is giving you the problem and you will need some one to look at the machine for you.
If not
Switch off the computer
press and hold F8 then reboot
you will get a screen in safe mode
click on the safe mode and enter what ever windows os you have on the screen.
If it asks you do you want to restore your system click yes.
Take it back to a known good earlier date.
It may take up to 2 hours to complete the task
When done you should have a operating system that is clean.

Forgot to mention that to restore your pc you will have to push F10 at boot. Then it will ask if you want to do a partial restore or full. Do the partical, you should not lose any information that you have on the PC. Hope this helps :-)

The F10 to restore option is specific to certain computers; it isn’t universal, just FYI.

If you have Windows Vista, apparently one of the recent updates has caused this problem for a lot of people. I just did a Google search for the terms

vista update restarting

and found several sites with information on the problem (assuming this is what you’re experiencing).

Hope that helps.

Yes your correct most of the pc’s use F10 and some will use F11 to access the restore partiton. After reading the SP1 update for windows the partical restore is about the easiest way to get your system back up and running. The new update is causing a lot of different errors and problems. Hope this helps :-)

Yes, I have heard about SP1 causing boot problems too. It sounds like SP2 might not be far away!

I think that we all knew that Microsoft would not get it right the first time. Vista is setup with way too many accessories for the beginning user and even some experienced users are having problems running their programs correctly.
