How do I Network a Windows Xp Server to a Linux Ubuntu workstation?

I am trying to network a Windows Xp server to a Linux Ubuntu computer. The linux ubuntu has dectected the server I see it on the linux computer but the Windows xp Server is not detecting it. What should I do? Please Let me know step by step preferably. thanks!

I do not run Gnome for the window manager, as that is what Ubuntu uses. But I can give some VERY general guidelines, that will point in the right direction.

First you need to (create/select) a folder on the Linux machine you want to share with Windows.(Windows can not handle the Linux filesystem without addition programs.) Then you need to add this folder to your samba shares as accessible to the workgroup your Windows machine is part of. I know there is a control panel applet, but do not know its name in Gnome that is what you want to use to do this.
