My son is 7mos.
old. Born with multiple, very rare and severe birth defects. He has never been home. January 16, 2008 he underwent surgery for a tracheostomy at DHMC in Lebanon, NH. Boston Children’s Hospital said because of my son’s unusual anatomy, this surgery would never be possible. It’s done, everything is healing and he is doing great. Doctors said within a month or so my baby may finally be able to come home. This is nothing short of a miracle. The moment we have been dreaming of. The problem……our apartment is too small for my son and all the special equipment he needs. I have searched every charitable organization, the town, the state. EVERYWHERE’S! There is NO HELP out there. I have become very discouraged and feel my resources are exhausted. We need help to renovate our home. There is a garage bay right next to our livingroom that we could expand into to accomodate our son. He is ventilator dependant. The chances of him living a long, full, normal life are very slim. All we want is what is best for him. A nice enviroment, at home with his family. These renovations are not for us, they are for him. I don’t know what to do, where to go or who to turn to. I’ve done almost everything I can. Our bank accounts are drained, we work, but barely get by. Is there any help out there?
