Well, it depends on the usage, but…

Pie is empanada or pastel.

Cheesecake is going to need to be broken down into cheese (queso) and cake (pastel or tarta).

Pasta is pasta (plural pastas).

Seafood is marisco or mariscos

Brownies is probably going to need to be broken down as in brown (marron with the accent on the o) and cake (pastel).

Hope this helps. Maybe purchasing an inexpensive Spanish/English dictionary would be a good idea. There are millions out there…could probably find a decent one for a buck at a used book store.

Also, you may want to use altavisita’s babelfish (just google that), instead of freetranslation.com. Seems to be more consistent with true words, but you can never trust the online translators 100%. A dictionary and a firm understanding of the leccion (lesson) will probably be helpful!
