computer help: I am in need of some advise, I was fired from my job back in Dec. - Help.com

I am in need of some advise, I was fired from my job back in Dec.

I was in the police academy and made a stupid mistake and paid the ultimate price for it…my job. I was fired for “conduct unbecoming” for writing answers for a retest on a desk, I never used the answers for the retest but nonetheless was still terminated. I have been constantly searching for other employment since then, but it seems like the only answer I get is a computer generated response thanking me for my interest. I’m 23 years old and have my bachelor’s degree, but no real experience except for some labor jobs I worked while in college. I don’t know what to do, my savings is quickly dwindling and I do not qualify for unemployment. I want to start a career, but don’t know what to do or where to start. I have looked on careerbuilder, monster, and other similar websites and nothing seems to match me or I never hear back from the company. Does anyobdy have any suggestions or advise?

I work for the department for work and pensions in the UK, looking for work for people. One thing potential employers appreciate is honesty when applying for work. If you enclose a letter with your application explaining the circumstances to loosing your old job, giving reasons about how you’ve learned from your mistake, its possible you can turn a negative into a positive

Check with your local command labor and see what temp work is available, some money is better than none and you will be getting job experience in the process. Hope this helps :-)
