means that u may have moved the original song to a different source (memory stick, cd, etc.) and didn’t leave it on your hardrive. just try to see if you moved it to a cd or something, put the cd in, and re-save it to your itunes library folder. do you have a mac or a pc?

ps-try manually dragging and dropping songs from your library to your ipod…you can set it up by clicking on the ipod icon when it’s hooked up to your computer. there should be a little box that is checked, should say sync automatically or something like that…uncheck the box and check the manual one :-)

It means that iTunes cannot locate the file in the folder it was in. Ex. If you say that XXX.mp3 is in C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\My Music and you import it then. If it changes into another folder, say (C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\ ) (less “My Documents” ) Then XXX.mp3 is no longer found.

Run a search of the file and re-import it.

don’t sync automatically because it is ridiculously easy to wipe your entire hard-drive of song files.

the ! mark (i think) means that those PARTICULAR songs are in mp3 format, not in the usual iTunes ACC format. the difference between ACC format and mp3 format is that ACC format is locked (copyrighted) and you cannot use it outside of iTunes, mp3 format you can move and use any where (ex. iTUNES, Phone, mp3 player…)

I think this cuz i was convertiing songs to put them on my new phone and the ! mark started appearing on the songs i’d converted
