Most sound problems are caused from corrupt software drivers. However, you could also have a hardware problem. Have you checked your speaker system, is the power on? Is the plug in the correct jack? If you wiggle the cable dose the sound come out?
To check your software out first check the software volume control. Go to CONTROL PANEL and click in the SOUND AND AUDIO DEVICES. Make sure that your volume is turned up by sliding the indicator to high. If this doesn’t solver your problem next click on the SYSTEM icon. Then click on the HARDWARE tab and select the DEVICE MANAGER by clicking on it. You should now see a list of devices. Click on SOUND, VIDEO and GAME CONTROLERS. If you see any yellow markers you will need to reload the audio software drivers. To do this you must click on each one and delete/remove each one. Then restart your computer. As your system is rebooting you should get the Device setup wizard. Follow the instructions for automatically installing the software drivers. If the Wizard fails to find the proper software you will have to restart your computer again. This time you will need to insert your System CD. This time when the Wizard runs select the manual option. When it asks, check ‘HAVE DISK’ and follow the instructions. If neither of these choices works, you will have to go to the computer manufacturer’s website and find and download the updated software driver for the audio device.
