school help: I’m 17 and I hate school. - Help.com

I’m 17 and I hate school.

It is the second semester of my senior year in high school. If I don’t pass everything I won’t graduate, right now I’m failing pretty much all my classes and the probability of bringing my grades up is miniscule. I have little self-discipline and realisitically I don’t see myself reaching the graduation requirements. My parents are hellbent on my graduation. Is there something I else I can do?? Some quick-graduation program that would have me done with school soon?? Or any other advice would be greatly apreciated…

You could always go for your GED.

I split from high school, so I can’t say “well stay in” I think you should split, get your GED or go to night school some places even have real diplomas. School isn’t the same how it used to be. It’l be less stress that way, trust me I’ve done it, I’m 19, drop out and its fine. Don’t let people tell you life sucks if you don’t finish school. Not true-Kay? be happy don’t stress

I dropped out of school my junior year of high school because credit wise I was freshman. There was no way I would ever graduate with my class. Like you I have very little self-discipline and I spent most of my time ditching school. To take the GED you have to be at least 18. At the time I was only 17 so I found out that there was a test called California High School Proficiency Exam (CHPE). It’s like the GED and is a diploma equivalent. It was pretty easy. It consisted of some math multiple choice, some english multiple choice and an essay. There was a book I bought to study for it which gives you three practice tests. I don’t know where you live but maybe there is something offered like that where you are. You can find out through your school. I ended up graduating a year earlier than my class.
