Everyone told me to smoke pot in school. I never did.

So what if you are over weight. These others should support you that you have taken on a sport to help better your health. Who cares if you win or are the best on the team. Do it for you!

And FYI, being over weight does mean you are not a beautiful person. I know many full sized men and women who dress very sharp and look like a million bucks. It’s all about pride.

Do you to run track? When I say ‘you,’ I mean YOU - not your parents, not your coach, not your friends. If you do, keep at it! It’s that simple!

Keep running track for yourself, and not to be physically attractive, do it to be healthy. As long as you are a beautiful person inside, that’s all that counts; don’t worry about what you look like on the outside.

;)

Fast walking is good too. Don’t put too much stress on your knees.

At first maby you should just speed walk, or at the most jog. Running around all the time is bad for your knee joints so don’t over do it. It will take you a quite awhile to get enough strengh and stamina to run for any amount of time. Even if you run/jog/walk every day, it takes very long, this is natural. You’ll have to keep at it, it may take mounths to get a noticable difference. Just keep at it, stay positive and don’t over do it.
Good luck ;) - Starlight

Personally, I wouln’t be concerned with what others may think….if you really want to lose weight, running is the perfect excersize (as well as diet.) I think you should keep on with this…you’ll reap rewards beyond your wildest dreams. I’m on your side.

if the running is to much, just jog or walk for awhile first warm the muscle up and stretch them a bit before you go harder, that will give the body stamina and prepare it for the run, dont let others stop you from doing what you want ever, awsome that your taking the steps, litterally to overcome ,keep it up never give in ,only people that believe they can do it will and do,skipping rope is extremely good also, burns up the body fat fast ,gives you an awsome workout, slowly build your self, gradual steps foward and further everyday ,goodluck and stick withit, ill be looking for you in the next olympics yeh, keep the fluids up too ,dont let anyone define your action

You’ve set the bar pretty high by going straight to track. But, it’ll be really hard, and feel great if you achieve what you want. Also, do you even like track? There are a million other options.

If you are able to run without serious medical problems, then keep it up. If you stop it will be harder to start up again. People are always trying to discourage people from achieving their goals. They will say that you are too fat, too stupid, too whatever. A true show of character is when you can persist without encouragement, and you will eventually surprise everyone and yourself.

If a doctor or medical professional tells you to stop, or you have chest pains (aside from the usual cramps aka stitch that is common for runners), then consider stopping. If you think you may be destroying your hips or knees due to excessive weight then switch to brisk walking until you get the weight off.

I used to walk and bicycle whenever I could. It was pleasurable as well as beneficial. Just do what works for you and pace yourself. Oh, how I’d give anything to be able to do these things again.
