Seriously, not a joke here…Procreation, Thats about it.
You decide what it is. Everyone decides what their meaning of life is, there isn’t a set meaning for all people. Unless you accept the scientific view, and that is the meaning of life is to be born, reproduce, and die. But I like the first one myself…lol
poon tang, huh? nice hot poon tang
Just Sir James said, it is what you make it. It can be the best thing you ever experience or it can be the worst. You choose what happens, what you believe in and how you should live. You’re born, you live, and you die. You have one shot so don’t screw it up. Just make it your own.
theres learning how to crawl and walk and talk, theres is school, work, and further learnings…there is reproducing and dieing…i say learn-work-die…theres your meaning!
to learn from mistakes
A test by God to see if you’ll make unselfish choices, and become a noble person, or if you will choose to be more like an animal–and only gratify yourself. The first will open up the world to you and help you feel closer to God and others. The second will make you feel empty and that there is no God or others who care.
There was once one who spoke about the “Two Trees” the tree of life and the tree of good and evil. If you choose…choose wisely, lol. Do you want to know for discussion or are you interested in really knowing. I only ask because “if” this tread goes as most do we you ask the “belief” questions, it could get ugly and you may not get much from it before it gets cut off?
there is no god…you guys, life aint much of a belief question either, we all make good AND bad choices, now show me ONE person who doesnt!!!!! you live, you learn, you reproduce, you die…what exactly else is there?

I like the talk about choices. Victor Frankl wrote a good book: Man’s Search For Meaning. From Frankl’s perspective, life, in an of itself, is imbued with meaning, even under the most dire of circumstances. To live is to “mean” so to speak. Frankl founded a type of psychotherapy called logotherapy based on his experiences as a prisoner in a Nazi Death Camp during WW2. For Frankl, the one unchangable tenant that every thinking human being posesses is the freedom of choice and response, even in the face of unchangeable suffering. That freedom of the mind and spirit is the true meaning of life: the full purpose of every contemplative being.
Or the meaning of life is number 42.
ive been questioning the same thing quite alot myself recently, and ive gotten a few different responses from a few different people. one was that life is about experience whilst you get the chance to experience. then there was that the meaning of life is to give life meaning, which i think is just a fancy way of saying that life is what you make it. i also got told that its about getting to know yourself; finding yourself, as you want to be not as you’ve been conditioned or raised to be. then theres evolution, that the meaning of life is to consciously evolve into a higher being, since we seem to be able to avoid ’survival of the fittest’ by manipulating our environment how we choose. personally, i believe that everyone has a destiny and that the meaning of life is to discover and fulfill your destiny. thats why everyone has their own talents, they have the ability to contribute to the whole of humanity in a different way. i call it finding your piece to be able to acheive peace
;peace

“In essence, the meaning of life is to increase evolutionary fitness”
To each his own but, I would hate to have this as my only hope for living 60-90ish years =)
i like to think of my life as not just my own but as a contribution to the whole of society and hopefully the world. thinking about the world i want to live in as well as the world i want to create for my children and their children etc. unfortunately, with the world as it is atm it seems that preservation of what we’ve yet to destroy seems like the priority over what we want to create.

I agree Endur. I tried to be very neutral in presenting that site on this post. I find it interesting, but not inspiring or life affirming! That said, the entire site seems to urge people to stop asking “why am I here” and start asking “what am I doing while I’m here.” I kind of like that living in the moment…
the moment is that there really is, the past is a collection of memories and the future is a collection of hopes and expectations. neither exists unless we’re here now. thank you for reminding me of that.
