Nice. I like it. If you’re into writing and reading other people’s stuff and getting and receiving critiques… www.scribophile.com is a really great new website.

I’m done with the shameless promotion now — just thought you might like it.

Oh I got the impression from your poem that they’re looking it over … but I don’t “get” poetry very easily.

I like your poem inabox. The desire to escape is coupled with the fear of what might happen if (when) you do. Fantastic last line!

I wrote a poem.

please spare me this city’s february dawn,
the sidewalks seem haunted by my repeated tread,
apparitions appear, summoned by time & action,
i fear only an exit could trigger my exorcism.

with leave, i could assail the hilltops of Nietzsche
reside in the slopes that are san francisco,
with two jobs & schooling, insomnia would be necessary
but i would slay my ghosts, the fences around me,
and, sigh, the ties to my family.
Oh. Hail Mary. Hail Mary.

here, City, your empty streets are filled with nothing,
all your families, dawns & day-dreams? well time commits neither to memory.
i think this is not the place for me,
& your ghosts are tugging at my legs.

tho i fear that my escape would not bring salvation,
am i bound to roam haunted, wherever?
if so i would slip, scaling those hilltops.
for Gods banish those plagued by terror dreams.
