Is this a good guitar package (gibson maestro)
http://www.gibson.com/en-us/Divisions...
I don’t want any other suggestions telling me what else is good, just tell me if this would be a good starter package, if it’s not going to break quickly, etc…
thanks

I have a Gibson Maestro guitar. The string broke off within the first day of purchasing it.
so i’m guessing it’s not good to get?
no gibson is good but i dont like maestros
would you say it’s a good starting guitar?
i mean yea but if i were you id get you a good guitar that you can keep. you can always advance. if you arent serious about playing and just want it just because then yea but i mean if you really feel the music and talent in you and want to play, get you something you can really appreciate in the long run when you look back

what about any of these?
oops, 2 of those don’t work…
i have an ibanez and they are good, thats a pretty good bargain if they are in the shape they say they are. (thats the second one) AND NO NO NO to the third one. those guitars are crap, the action is too high and the fret boards warp! not a good guitar, there are much better fenders out there
k, thx!
no prob :) guitar is amazing, ive been playing for 4 years. its just something you have to feel and if you get good, get with a band. Its awsome when you start doing stuff and hear it come together
yeh, gibsons are good guitars..ide get it if i were you.

I know gibsons are good, but it sounds like the maestros are kinda cheapish/break easily…
Can Someone Please Tell Me What The Difference Is Between A Maestro And An Epiphone, I Know Gibsons And Epiphones Sound The Same But Gibsons Are More Expensive Cos Of The Make & Wood N Stuff, But I Want This:
And I’ll Only Get It If It Sounds Like An Epiphone Les Paul

Suggestions / Answers VERY Much Appriciated!
Gibsons are fine guitars. The maestro is their low end model but it is still a decent instrument. It is far more important to practice A LOT than to worry about the guitar. Just make sure you buy it from Gibson and not some Chinese counterfeit artist. Go to gibson.com if you are buying it online.
I would urge you not to consider a maestro. Maestro is the lowest branch of of a long line of Gibson products. Ibanez are nice but the majority of their players are from metal bands or the shred movement (personally i think they sound very electronic/not natural). [ aboid anything with a heavy duty tremolo, it would be a frustrating expireince) I would look at Squier’s by fender, they may be made in indonesia but most people I kno learned on one and once they fell in love with the instrument they upgraded. They will run anywhere from 80$ to 250$ and they are build like a rock/ the parts are cheap but in comparison to a maestro they are superior. Maestro is Gibson’s answer to the squier, but squier have more expirience. I’ve been playing for 6 years and i had one, and i still have it in case i’m in a pinch
For Dom J
Gibson jacks up its price because they have the made in america factor. epiphones are nice, but the maestro I would avoid. If your looking for a les paul shape check epiphone and see what you like. bear in mind they are very cumbersome and some find them uncomoftable. Personally i would say Maestro is a waste of money and its only a matter of time before something serious happens to it(i.e. warped neck, intonation problems etc.) Gibsons ten to be pricy but their faded series guitars (offered in the les paul, sg, flying v, explorer) are made in america and play outstanding. They can be priced at a 700 but ebay = 500 or less. i happen to use a specialized SG from the faded series and it is unbelivable quality for its price. it actually sounds amazing without an amp. i had a limited addition Gibson les paul voodoo, which was amazing(accidentially broke) but i would say this guitar is even better. If neither suit your fancy look at Hamer, i personally think they are better sounding than a gibson and are an incredible bargain at about 400$.
Im not trying to be rude but i figured id pass on what i knew
I hope this helps someone
Get an Epiphone Les paul Special
I have a gibson maestro double cutaway with two pickups
its not a bad starting guitar but you can find better for the price
that other guys is right, for good beginning guitars, look at ibanez!
