Well you’re in luck. The treble clef is probably easier for a begginer although I prefer bass for marching band. I’ve been playing trombone since I was 7 years old and it is one of my favs for marching band. Are you interested in taking lessons at school? When I first saw my first music notes I was all confused and everything but know I read my music as if I’m reading a book…If you’re interested in taking lessons from a private teacher just let me know…I know of a ton of organizations that offer plenty of teachers that you might be interested in. School is one of the best places to get into music. One of my freinds first suggested to me that I try a learn brass, which soon lead to me taking lessons. Some instruments that are in treble clef are: Clarinet, Oboe, Trumpet, Flute, and ect. The flute is a rather hard instrument to learn but its a great instrument to start out with, as well as the others.
anyway hopefully this info helps.
:D

Actually I think that Alto Clef and Bass are easier to learn. It’s not so much the clef per se, they all tell you where the notes are on the staff, but lower parts (Alto, Bass) are usually accompaniment. Meaning you will have easier rhythms to learn. Treble usually has the melody (main tune).

Did you want to march? Or just be a part of the marching arena? The Timpani is used by marching band although stays stationary. A friend of mine was asked to fill the spot of the timpani one year and she picked it up well in a short time.
