How do you know if you are gay or straight?

I have never really thought about this in context of myself, but truthfully I don’t know. I just don’t feel attraction to either men or women. I have a female friend I like in a way, more the one who I feel the most on the same wavelength with, who I feel I could really spend my life with, but I don’t really have an urge to have sex with her (or anyone). Stereotypically, I am probably more gay than straight. I have the sense of style, the volumnous closet of clothes, the sensitivity, but I don’t have any urge to sleep with any guys I know either. This is probably the biggest source of confusion in my life but like I said, I haven’t really pondered this until recently as I am evaluating my life and what is making me depressed. On a side note, if you were the one I thought might be me soulmate but felt like I described above, would you want to get involved with me?

Ok, I’d say you’re straight. First of all, we were naturally created to be heterosexual.

But, besides that, I’m kinda like that. I mean, I used to have urges, or want to have sex with different girls, but recently, I haven’t at all, which is very strange, because like you, there’s also a girl I really like, but I don’t ever think about her like that.

I’ve also been acting all emo and crap lately too. In fact, if my friends didn’t know better, and they weren’t good friends, I wouldn’t be completely surprised if they thought I was gay. I know I’m not, so I guess that’s all that matters. However, I’ve been acting emotional to them…even some of my ‘friends’ that I don’t really know that well.

Just because you’re not completely horny like a lot of guys, doesn’t mean you’re gay.

And I wouldn’t want to get involved with you, because I’m not gay. But you sound like a nice guy.

yeah, just wondering… how old are you? 27? if you are, you would know you are gay by now. lol. If not, don’t worry you are probably straight but either way it really doesn’t matter. You probably just have a low level libido.

With depression you sometimes have a lack of sexual desire. That could be the case with you. Have you always had this lack of desire? In your teen years did you have sexual desires for any certain gender?
