You can do a project on anything (with an engineering or electronic/ electrical bias)
The idea behind the project module is that you show you can do the admin side of things.
i.e.
Plan, action and report at various stages.
You could for instance do a project on changing a door lock, if you have no on going projects at work then invent one (i know easier said than done)

Take a few pictures of a roller shutter door at work, download a bit of bumf about PIR’s (motion sensors) and write a report about fitting one to the door. then take a picture of the door open. it really is that easy.

It is all about how you present the idea rather than what the idea is actually about… just type loads of assignment type rubbish and put it in a folder… done and dusted.

cool that I can find someone in my shoes. With the lecturers giving a whole free hand that we source for and implement the final year project, I guess I’ve got a lot of browsing to do and a lot of reading too. However, I’m more intersed in telecommunications and I will like to lay my hand on a Network Alarm Reporting System. What about that?
