I know I have picked myself up and forced myself to do it even while sick. I don’t know that I made the best impression, although it did show I really wanted the job. You might try phoning the potential employer if you are feeling really ill and ask if they would kindly set another date for the interview. I think if they are interested in your services and don’t want to pick up the flu themselves, they would be happy to change the date.

tough call, i had a job interview scheduled a month beforehand, then when the day finally arrived i get a bad case of food poisoning. i couldn’t even stand up much less without feeling like i was going to pass out from the pain. i told them the next day what happened but there were no exceptions. i was ticked off because whats the chances of getting really sick on the one day you need to be 100% well.

I’d say no, unless this job is your last hope before starvation or death or something. Every employer should understand having the flu… you are paying them a courtesy! If you come in and seem sick, they’ll be offended that you put them in danger of catching it and also you’ll come across as kind of gross.
