If you are talking about a digital camera then the answer is easy.
Your camera usualy formats any picture taken on an AVI file. windows meadia will read this.
So you will need a conection cable from your camera to the computer, it will be a USB cable.
If you have one of these then conect it to your camera and plug it into one of the USB ports on your computer, windows will detect it as a new hard drive and will put a window on screen with a selection of options. Pick the one that says COPY MY PICTURES TO A FOLDER this will now start the process.
You will need to give the folder a name and it will be put into MY VIDEO or MY PICTURES directory on your computer which is in MY DOCUMENTS.
Once you have done this go to the video you wish to play and double click it.

Just click OK tart the job.

I will never understand why Microsoft doesn’t support more file types in its Media Player. If you look long enough you can find the codex addons to make most files work with it. Most suppliers want to charge you for them but, there are many free sites also. I believe that Kodak uses (.mov) for their video files. You can run them with Apple Quick Time Player, free to download from Apple. Or my favorite, you can view most video files from the AVS DVD player which, is also free to download. Just Google for either one.
