I have a similar problems; it’s a fear of the life we are in. We are avoiding a problem that’s out there, and are afraid to face it. I’m not sure how to fix it; baby steps I guess. Try making yourself do just one thing before you play a game. One thing. Take out the garbage. Do the dishes. I’ve been listening to books on tape to do the dishes, because I need distraction. I guess another thing to try would be to explore why we are avoiding thinking. Maybe draw a picture of what you are feeling, or find a safe place a journal just for ten min utes; set a timer, and when it goes off, go back to the computer. I think that doing any of these things just a tiny bit at a time will help; I’m still working through it. In the meantime, my laundry is piling up. Don’t let people tell you that it’s laziness. There’s always a reason for the things we do; most of the time it’s subconscious; we just need to bring it to the surface to resolve it. Hang in there; you aren’t the only one.
