reason help: my dell lap top for no reason out of the blue just started giving - Help.com

well i am trying to save my photo files to cd so that my system will run faster so i bought a brand new package of cd that are specific for photo archiving….. can you suggest different ones i should try?

my boyfriend use to work for dell.. he says that dell has some kind of something internally… and after you have the computer for so long.. it automatically messes up on you.. so that you go out and buy another one..

your freakin kidding me right??!!! well how do i fix it? can it be fixed without buying a new one?

he is not home at this very second.. he is at work.. but as soon as he gets home.. i can have him explain it to you..

my friend just got a dell laptop.. and he told me to tell her.. about this internal thing… well… she decided to keep it.. probably about 3 months later… she was sending it out to get fixed… stopped working…

AWWW!! im about ro pull my hair out with this computer! It would be great if y ou could have him explain it to me if he gets a chance!

he doesnt get home from work until 1 am… its now only 5 43pm…

just leave a comment on exactly what is going on… here…. what is happening.. and such.. and ill have him look at it when he gets home… he is a computer nerd.. lol… has built his own computer and when im having issues with mine… he actually types in some mojo and im fine… lol..

ok here you go………its fine except when i try to save to a cd it says the drive in unavailabel….the cd’s im trying are brand new so im pretty sure thats not the problem. also there has been no damage to it at all ive only had the thing like a yr and 4 months!!! Thank you so much its driving me crazy, Im a photographer and i just wanna save some files to disk to clean up room on the hard drive

i will be sure to let him see this.. and let him type his reply in my name ok.. cuz im a ding bat when it comes to computers… lol.. i know how to turn it on.. and do what i want to do… other than that… im completely lost… hahahahahaha..

hey.. sorry i didnt get back to you sooner… he wants to know how long this has been going on for? has it always been like this? he wants to know if you know how to do a system restore… he wants you to do a system restore to about couple of days prior to this issue started… see if that works.. if not.. let me know..

I dont know how to do a system restore but im sure i can find out! no its only been like this maybe a month at most. Thank you so much ill let you know if it works

ok… this is how you do it… click on start… click on assesories.. then on system tools… then click on system restore… and make sure you go back far enough… if you say its been a month or so.. try going back 2 months… let me know if it works..

hi lil_bit_shi , i didnt do the system restore cause i got scared…….will it erase files or stuff i have saved on it? stupid question probably but im a photographer and i have save two couples engagement shoots and i cant afford to lose them
