Call a vet and ask them…I’m sure that will be your best bet.

it sounds like he has a cold… however… it could be kennel cough…

‘Kennel Cough’ is the term that was commonly applied to the most prevalent upper respiratory problem..

There are many different agents that contribute to the disease process of tracheobronchitis. The most common are parainfluenza, Bordetella bronchiseptica, and mycoplasma. Canine adenovirus, reovirus, and canine herpes virus are thought to possibly contribute to the disease. Although any one of these organisms can cause symptoms of the disease, the majority of cases are the result of more than one organism.

‘Feline Upper Respiratory Disease Complex’ is the term used to describe a condition affecting the mouth, nasal passages, sinuses, and upper airway in cats and kittens. There are multiple causes of feline upper respiratory complex, but 80-90% of the cases are caused by feline herpes-1 (also called feline rhinotracheitis virus) and calicivirus (pronounced cal-ee-chee). Other causes include Chlamydophila felisi (previously termed Chlamydia), feline reovirus, Bordetella bronchiseptica, Pasteurella spp., and mycoplasmas. Infections and symptoms by some of these agents may occur secondarily to an infection with rhinotracheitis virus or calicivirus.

You definitely want to take this kitten to the vet. If you adopted him from a shelter, he could also have fleas, worms, and earmites, all of which are rampant in shelters and each of which is easily treatable. It’s expensive, but it’s part of being a good petparent! You’ve got to do it!
