hi gwenflojo - if you’re going to ask total strangers for a $200K loan, the least you could do is fill in your personal profile.
hi there - I apologize for my snap response a couple of days ago. I was having a crappy day. I haven’t seen you reply to this post yet, and wanted to find out if any of the links we provided to you helped? If not, can you give some more detail about your situation so that we can help connect you with the right resources who could help?
$200,000 dollars is a lot of money — to get a grant you will need to do something in return, like win a contest. You might have better luck just trying to reorganize your finances in order to more comfortably pay off your debts. Have you checked out debt consolidation and refinancing options, for example? Here are some links that might be helpful because of their advice or because they mention good organizations for you to check out.

I will gladly fill in the personal profile and work for a non-profit legal services group if someone or some entity is interested in helping me pay my $139,000 in law school loans! American Idol is probably not an option for me. Any takers?? I’ve consolidated already but it doesn’t relieve the burden of paying what amounts to a monthly mortgage on a nice home - and I have my apartment rent in addition. Half of the student loans are through private lenders and at a higher interest rate - and they keep going up. June 30 is around the corner and the government loans will go up too. Before law school I was idealistic and wanted to help people who really needed it with my law degree; now I am locked into trying to keep my head above water financially by working at a business firm that doesn’t quite fall into the category of “helping people.”
Greetings everyone:
My name is Sonjahi, and I just stumbled on this site after searcing for companies to pay off my student loans. To no avail, I have not found any information that will not cost me a dime.
My situation is that I just graduated from college several weeks ago, and I owe the government 36,000 for school grants. I have worked in the social services arena for almost ten years of my life, and I want to know if there are any organizations that will pay this debt. I have worked with non-profits organizations, community based organizations, and federal funded programs. I just learned the congress veto such a program for teachers/case managers that worked for Head Start where I was employed until I was laid off last year. Any advice, or leads will help me greatly.
Thank you,
Sonjahi
hi sorry for the delay in responding with some ideas for folks on this post. I actually came across the following article that provided really helpful advice. There are in fact some options for doing work in the ‘public interest’ (nurses working in under-served communities, same option for lawyers including taking positions in non-profits; for other professions there is AmeriCorps or enrolling in the military, etc).

I also discovered this other helpful advice, including information on a Federal Loan consolidation program specifically designed for dealing with student loans after graduation.

I am a reliablelender who lend out loan and personal loan to all serious persons who are in need of the offer,i lend it out in a low percentage of 3%.if you are in need opf the loan contact me via email (email removed)
I’m in the same situation: I chose to pursue education in the field of social work and theology — undergraduate, post graduate and clinical pastoral education. I have worked in non-profits (formed two of them over the years), but have not been able to earn enough money working full time to live above poverty, much less pay school loans. Now, 16 years after I started this path, I’m 56 years old and in serious trouble regarding how I’ll pay this $40,000 to slow down a bit as I age. I’ve worked as a chaplain with people in poverty (housing, food, clothing, transportation), jail/prison, drug/alcohol recovery, juvenile/adult street gangs. At this point, I’m scared — and ashamed to admit that I’m a little bit angry that a person could sincerely devote this much of a lifetime to serving the needs of those “least among us” and bump into retirement without a hope of slowing down. I don’t want to quit; I just really need to find a way to reduce/eliminate these loans so I can live out my life at a reduced pace. If anybody has any ideas about grants or other corporate/government programs that might help, please forward them to me. (email removed) Thank you so much.
Ron
Hi, Ron again! I see my email address was removed during the post. I don’t know if I’ll find my way back to this page, so I’ll try to leave my address and phone number. Address is 341 29th Avenue North in St. Cloud, MN 56303. Phone is 320-267-0872. Thanks

Interesting story, I guess i’m in the same situtions. I joined the military after I graduated from college, but due to prior service…i was unable to obtain assistance. I have no idea what I can do to reduce or pay off $100,000 of student loans. Yes, servicing full time in the military and being a graduate student is difficult, but i can not stop or I will be forced to pay in 6 months and I do not have that kind of money. I am willing to serve for free to get these loans paid off. What can I do or what programs can I check out. Thanks Sergeant Hillard 3rd Infantry Division: Ramadi, Iraq.
I am a single mom just trying to provide for my child, it hard to take care of a child without enough education to get the job to pay the bills. and i just need a little help my student loan is only for 1800 dollars. And i know if i could pay it off and go back to school i could get the career that i always wanted. Please help me what can i do or what programs could be of service to me. Thanks Ms. Bolden
I feel for you. I also owe over $200,00 on student loans partly because I maxed out my student loans to $132,000 being a single mother of 5 with no child support I lived off the money. The other $60,000 was from consolidation were the company lost pages of the consolidation, the $60,000 went to default & both companies chose to charge me for the same $60,000. I have been trying to fix this for 2 years & can’t afford a lawyer. I am employed as a children’s Mental health therapist with an annual salary of $34,000. When I win the lottery I will help you. I pray someone will be able to help you & me both.
I understand what all of you are saying, I am a head start teacher and have been for many years and you know what the salary is for head start teachers. I went to graduate school and now my student loan is over 55,000.00. Working with low-income children and their families I cannot afford to pay this student loan even though I have consolidated, but that really does not help with all the other bills that I have. I have been writing letters to see if there is any organization that will help me pay this high interest loan off or cancel or even a loan forgiveness would be great. I am in desperation to get this loan off my credit marked as paid. I can only pray that God will present a miracle for us lowest paid teachers.
I owe $89,000 on student loans myself. I am surfing the Internet for a solution that I doubt I will find. I am a Social Studies teacher who can’t get a job because I am not a coach. I have two master’s degrees, one in education and one in liberal arts. I tell you I get no respect. I am currently working as paraprofessional though I am a certified teacher. I work under a woman who has less education than I do. Man this sucks and is humiliating. Please somebody give me some hope and a way to get a decent job. I only make $991 a month.
