medical help please

So my sister is sick and apparently has a dry cough for the past few days and has been complaining about chapped lips, i know most dry cough related things, but would there be anything that would include chapped lips? She’s 14 years old in general good health, and the coughing and chapped lips are the only symptoms i know.

Drink more water.

Chapped lips can be from dehydration, or even from just cold weather. It’s hard to say.

I second Times’ advice. Her body could be a little dehydrated, but it could be from cold weather as well. If she starts coughing stuff up I would be more concerned. Unless she start to get a fever I wouldn’t worry too much. Steamy showers vitamin C and hot tea are my advice.

Hope she gets to feeling better.

She can also get chapped lips from licking her lips after she coughs or anytime. Try some chapstick and she should be good to go in no time.

chapped lips is just one of those weakness things some people have
and seems to re-occur from time to time. A cold can trigger secondary
things like chapped lip’s. Everyone is familiar with cold sores.
In that case it’s a virus that remains dormant until triggered by a cold.
There’s not much you can do about it, just treat the symptoms.
