it sounds like it might just be scar tissue… where while your belly was growing… it stretched where the ring went through… causing it to have scar tissue built up in there… which can be really extremely sore..

if it is scar tissue.. and they remove it.. they will just numb you up and then proceed.. it doesnt hurt at all.. i actually had a small cyst on my chin.. and i was freaking out… cuz i was going to be awake when they cut it out… but.. the only thing you feel is the Novocaine to numb you up… and pressure… it doesnt hurt at all..

But was it on the skin or in it?

it was under my skin… deep down inside.. enough to where i had to have 3 stitches when they were done.. i had the cyst for over 8 years.. and it got big enough to where i could actually see it when i smiled.. so i had it removed..

Hi Dani - Three years is a long time to hurt. I agree with the above that you should see the doctor. I have heard of scars and it sounds like it could be but I’m not a doctor and I hope it is an easy thing for them to fix painlessly for you.

I looked up information for you on a couple site (one talks about pregnancy & belly rings, the second is a discussion group of pregnant women on this:

http://www.howtodothings.com/family-a…

http://www.medhelp.org/forums/Materna…

Don’t know if these help but I had read that a lot of practitioners recommend different things but usually removing at 5-6 months or when it becomes uncomfortable. I hope you get relief soon. Scar tissue can really hurt. Good luck Dani!

Sorry Dani, I know it sounds like I am confused and maybe I am…ignore me then. I thought you said this happened because you had the belly ring and were pregnant and I just thought it might help to look up information starting there. I read several sites to help you and I think Tammy is right that it sounds like scar tissue.

Just ignore Sweetie. It has been a long day and I am in pain so I am going to get off the computer and rest. I’m tired, I know that is now an excuse and I was really trying to listen to you. The only thing that matters is to get it taken care of and feel better. Have a nice evening.

Diane

When i was pregnant with my kid, I had a belly BUTTON ring, I had to take it out because well a kid was in there makeing it stick out, and while i got bigger i noticed a bump where the ring was like in my belly button the top, i ask the baby doctor she said dunno could be a hernia or something and it hurt when i pressed on it, well anyway i never thought anything of it or got it checked out but off and on through the years onnce inawhile it starts hurting, I can tell its not like a stomach ache because its not like my stomach like it hurts when i move that area (belly button) or when i touch it, btw i had joel almost 3 years ago the thing is still there, and well it hurts right now…so my question is… AM I GOING TO DIE?!
