Eat healthier and cut down on junk food, such as replacing potato chips and chocolate with fruit. You’ll see a world of difference.
Watch how many soft drinks you consume. Consider flavored water as an alternative if you must.
Do aerobic exercise daily at a 30 minute minimum and include 1-2 day(s) rest break each week. Anything that brings your heart rate up. Take up dancing, running,, tae-bo. (Power walking will only build your legs.)
Eat lots of lean protein (like turkey and skinless chicken), fruits and dark vegetables, and whole wheat breads and grains. They keep you fuller longer than white breads like in cakes, cookies, and sweets.
To better work the entire abdominal region, vary your exercises: crunches work the upper abdomen; leg raises work the lower abdomen; side bends work the obliques or also known as love handles.
It is better to aim at burning fat altogether since it is impossible to spot train. And sure, you can do 100 daily crunches. But if you’ve got a layer of fat covering up your ab work, than what’s the point? You need to burn the stomach fat to see the changes.
Consider some form of an aerobic exercise, as well. Some simple resistance training, or light weight lifting, will not only help you burn fat more efficiently, but tone up the rest of your body as well.
Raising your metabolic rate is crucial. The higher your metabolic rate, the more energy (and thus fat) you’ll burn even when you aren’t doing anything. Try compound exercises like deadlifts with heavier weights. See “How to Do a Deadlift” for more information.

Does that work as I read somewhere on the internet it just makes your muscles bigger on top of your fat therefore making you look fatter?
I would just say don’t feel presured by those who are starving themselves they are idiots and drink water and eat fruit and veg and nothing else.

Making better food choices, not drinking so much alcohol. Good exercises. First you want to remove your body fat, Cardio will get your heart movin and the blood pumping and that why you see runners all slender. Then to tone, do core training exercises (leg lifts). Along with a good eating habits you should have a iron tummy in no time.

yes your muscles do get bigger under the fat, and you’ll gain more weight cause you’re adding to your muscle and muscle weighs a lot…even more than fat, but if you work out then the fat will go away and you’ll have a flat stomach.
Remember, though…..fat is lost when it is absorbed into the blood stream, which happens with the fat all over your body you can’t lose fat in a certain area by working that area out “spot” training scientifically doesn’t make sense. Work out your whole body to lose fat all over, not just your stomach.
