friends help: I’m not holding on by much, but I’m still holding on. - Help.com

I’m not holding on by much, but I’m still holding on.

Warning this is kind of depressing.

This is my year so far. My best friend, a person who could have literally have been my brother, died 8 days into the year. My girlfriend, or ex now, and I had a fight because she broke a promise to me, and then on our anniversary was sitting on some other dude’s lap. Now another one of my good friends is in the hospital, and has a 60-40 chance of dying. My home is hell because every night my parents drink themselves to sleep and everynight they yell at me because my grades are slowly sinking into the toliet. My life is a rolling pile of ****, but I’m still here. But honestly, I don’t know how much more I can take. I need help.

Hey there. Don’t know what to say except that sucks. One thing you do have though, obviously, is that you’re an incredibly strong person. It might feel like you’re at your lowest, but just the fact that you ARE still here and you’re reaching out means something. Make sure you have people in your life that you can talk to when things get bad. Or see a counselor, even if it’s just for awhile ’till things get sorted out, you know?
I’ll keep you and your friends in my thoughts.

Hang in there,do what you can to NOT do as others do,no matter how bad things look. You have something your parents dont have. They may have had it,and lost it with the booze. You will soar like an eagle some day.I hear it in your voice friend

Yea, make sure to talk to someone whom you can trust or can give you some practical help. You have yourself tho at least, you know what I mean? Don’t ruin yourself because of the things that happen around you. Harder things you experience, stronger and more tender you can become as the time passes by, and the whole thing will become a precious experience. In case you feel you cannot deal with it anymore, just talk to anyone at school or other family members and ask for help!

I actually feel happy today, its weird. My life hasn’t improved that much, but I’m happy.

My friend is hanging in there, but he’s got surgery tomorrow to put pins into his arm and leg to help fix the broken bones.

Good, man. I haven’t been in a good place lately either. Just hang in there. Things will get better, time is the cure for anything.

And, try to find a hobby of some sort. My life has been going downhill lately, and I feel I cant get out, either. My guitar playing, and songwriting has helped me as well.

there are two things that help me in the worst of situations and that is music and hobbies. not depressing music or hobbies that isolate you. try listening to postive music. This world is an ugly place if we look at the imperfections, but at the same time its a beautiful place if we give and get love from it

It has been a long time since then, and I am glad to say that my life has made a complete 180. I got into a really good college (Georgia Tech) and am doing very well. My friend pulled through and is going went through rehab and is predicted to make a almost full recovery. I am glad that I held on so tightly and am glad to be alive.

Thank You all!
