Any artists out there ever notice that often their emotions are applied to the art we create?
I used Opencavas recently and it has some amazing features, although it is a very simple program…so I got to network with another artist. I found his work slightly spooky…
We went back and forth, and after already working for about a day on the wacom, I made this…

Yes robo-zombie is here to eat your brainzzzz. Open Canvas is way fun.

Layers! That looks awesome. Is that program open-source / freeware? How does it compare to Photoshop 7?
When open canvas was first released it was free.
It’s now $60 for licensing.
You can download a 30-day trial.
You know the time elapsed, drawings? A lot were made with Open Canvas, the history can be saved and replayed phase by phase.
It has a simpler interface than Photoshop.
It has a similar feel to working with acrylics/pastels/oils.
You can network sessions with other people, like chatting and net-meeting (for MSN).
I’m still in my first 24hrs of use. So I’m not that familiar with it yet.
From what I understand the newest interface is a lot more like Photoshop, sans the history/delete option.
A digital tablet is a MUST HAVE with this software–I’m sure you could use a mouse but it wouldn’t be as much fun. IMO.
You should try ArtRage…it’s a fantastic app to use with a tablet.

Yay Photoshop!
I’ve always wanted a tablet, but it just seems unreasonable for me to own one seeing as I don’t do much in the visual arts these days.

My fiance bought me a Bamboo fun (by wacom), the smallest one it comes with a mouse, for $100 USD (and is $99 eur…) and according to Four, you can get one even cheaper if you want…
Yes, artist’s emotions typically play a role in their art.. That’s why you can see that some of the most famous artists, poets, and singers have been very troubled individuals, and their art reflected their strong emotions.
Thats one reason why I’m poor.. I don’t have many pent-up frustrations so my work isn’t very edgy. Keep focusing your eomotions on your art and you might become rich and famous! :)
WOW Times that is creepy and awesome! I would hang that on my wall :D and Marco your portrait is wicked! yall are awesome artists :D
My fiance said it looked like he needs a flower in one hand—and that it’s cute, like kid drew it, but creepy–like if a kid had drawn it…
Amazing work .
I worked for a year in art therapy , I can analyis your painting & see your feelings or your current condition through it .. You seem so lonely , sad & hurt .. I’m wondering why ?
I’m not lonely or sad. I actually got to work with another artist at the time. His piece was really spooky.
In all honesty I was exhausted from working with the wacom for all day, and I really wanted to go to bed. Plus blue is my favorite color.
Most of the time—when I’m happy people think I’m depressed.

should nt that qoute be the other way round, we make the artist by applying our emotions to there art ?
My lastest, in the series.
I really need to work on understanding backgrounds.

Not really, sometimes a blank canvas has a purpose, and other times—it could be ANYTHING. Since I’m just practicing right now, there is no pre-destination to what will be there.
O’noes! Broken Link—
Latest in the series, yes, yet another monster…
so the person who anilized your picture was correct, or was she/he judging your picture to how it made him/ her fell.

I used to work in art therapy so I was analyzing her feelings that she poured in her paintings , I wasn’t judging here painting , I didn’t analysis what her painting made me feel .
You can feel how van Gogh was so alone through analyzing some of his paintings.
Analyzing arts is a kind of therapy.
i was analyzed as a child by a therapyist not through drawings or paintings thou,
i did press pictures and words so im sorry for the neg comment just that it seems funny that something that a artist draws / paints has to have a sinical meaning to it , why is this ?
and yes maybe van gogh liked being lonely , whats wrong with that?
there is nothing wrong with being lonely , art therapy is just a ways that helps in trying to figure out how people feel at the moment they painted the painting. it is not a judgment.
It is like when you listen to a sad song , we can feel the writer’s feelings through his words .
Wow!!! powerful stuff times! What is opencanvas…i’m intreguid! (or however the heck it is spelled!)

It’s a drawing program…you can also network with others who have online access.
So Times,
this isn’t about a drawing program,
but about the emotions and art idea ….have you ever seen Val’s art diary on youtube? She kind of talks about why she does what she does– I know she’s marketing her work too, but.. what do you think? http://www.youtube.com/valsartdiary
emotions most definately are a part of art, and good art brings forth emotions. great pics.
