someone tell me the truth;
any truth.
We live on a planet.
It is called, in English, “The Earth.”
I am a human being.
I’m typing on a keyboard to tell you something true.
I assume that you are a human being.
I have three decorations in this room.
One is a sticker on the outside of the door that says, “Truth”.
Another is a sticker on the inside that says, “No lies”.
And there are glow-in-the-dark stars on the ceiling.
I went to my parents, crying, “Please, tell me anything true.”
My dad said, “We live on the earth.”
I was so relieved.
Then he started talking about the tv and politics and wars.
I read a book, “On Truth” by Harry Frankfurt.
He argues philosophically that truth is important.
I took his reasoning to my parents to try to convince them to tell me something true.
It didn’t help that I found his reasoning to be full of crap.
Nonetheless, we live on a planet.
I am a human being.
Oranges are orange.
I would be true with you even if you weren’t true with me, to a certain extent.
Fiction is lies that contain some truth and actually truly exists as fiction.
The adam and eve story portrays civilization as a covering up of the naked truth.
In the emperor’s new clothes, the little child saw the naked truth, all the adults saw the fiction.
2+2=4.
I am alive.
We are alive.
Time is passing.
To stay alive we have to control ourselves to get food and sleep.
There are 6 billion humans alive on the earth.
There are 3 trillion stars in the universe.
There are 3 trillion cells in a human body.
Some statements are more true than others.
Some lies are more powerful than truth.
Believing other people’s lies can be dangerous.
Gullible *is* a word in the dictionary.
It is hard to speak the truth about many things.
It can be easy to speak the truth.
It can be easy to know the overall truth.
I wrote all these sentences to reply to your plea, “Tell me something true.”
I also wrote them so that I could consider my relationship with truth and hopefully come to a better understanding of truth and what in life is most true or most importantly true, or how important truth is in life.
I also wrote the word “truth” many times because I know these thoughts I present are very partial and small, perhaps by saying the word “truth” over and over, I’ve triggered enough associations in your mind that you have a better feeling for what is true by now.
